[Beta] Widget for Messages 2.0: Display messages received within the Messages app onto your Home Screen, CarPlay, Live Activity and more byway of Shortcuts automations
For those unfamiliar with the app, Widget for Messages uses a single Shortcuts action to be used via the Message automation trigger for when a message is received within your Messages app. It’s then displayed on a widget on your Home Screen.
With this beta, it includes some optimizations, support for the new OS27 Extra Large Widget, better support for CarPlay users, and more.
All details and the TestFlight link are available here. You should be able to unlock the full app’s in-app purchase at no charge during the testing period. The app will be free as it is now with the use of the small widget; premium unlock is required to utilize all other widget sizes.

MVD + iPhone Mirroring doesn’t work but MVD + Device Hub does!
As we know, that doesn’t work, but what we absolutely wish for is that Mac Virtual Display and iPhone Mirroring work simultaneously. Well, for those on the OS 27 Beta, if you use the Device Hub app, you can interact with it as if it were using iPhone Mirroring while using MVD as long as the device is unlocked. It worked wirelessly and passed all mouse clicks and keyboard entries into the device.
Unsure if this requires Xcode Beta to run, being that I already have and use Xcode daily, so maybe someone can test it out, but I’m going to play with this for a while to figure out its limitations. I just stumbled upon it and figured I’d share.
[OS 27 Beta] Shortcuts app now able to restore lost shortcuts?
Maybe this will resolve the issue of users having automations that still run shortcuts that the users thought were deleted from their library? Not really sure what to make of it. Maybe it’s just shortcuts that are on the device but haven’t synced to iCloud?
The 6 shortcuts it restored I actually thought I already had in my library and hadn’t noticed them to be gone.
OS 27 Beta 2 now allows for easier toggling off/on of automations and filtering.
[Beta] Automation Control 2.11 - Added a notification option to trigger your automations automatically within custom time intervals on OS27 Beta and a few more conditional options.
Automation Control allows you to easily toggle on/off automations, log when your automations run or fail to run and tells the Shortcuts app to run your shortcut if certain conditions are met. More details can be found at Automation Control: The better way to manager your Shortcuts Automations
Download the beta; TestFlight Link
Implemented a new option named Automation Trigger that can be scheduled to run on a time interval with a repeating option. This will allow for easier building of Shortcuts automations that users wants to run like on an hourly basis, every 3 mins, whatever you'd like and automatically logs each time the notification triggered. Requires OS27 to be used with the new App Notification automation trigger.
What’s New:
- Run Shortcuts automations on the hour, every hour.
- Run Shortcuts automations on time intervals like every 5 mins or 3 hours.
- Run Shortcuts automations at intervals based on all of the available additional conditions.
- Toggle to try and auto dismiss notification after 5 seconds
- Motion: In Motion, Stationary, Walking, Running, Driving, Cycling
New Conditions (Does not requires OS27)
- Orientation: Portrait, Portrait Upside Down, Landscape Left/Right, Face Up/Down
- Active Call: If device is on an active call
- Screen Lock: If deice’s screen is locked
- Low Power Mode - Is on/off
How to use Automation Trigger:
- Create a new Controller Item in the Automation Control app and name it the same as your shortcut.
- Tap the Conditions tab (icon that displays two pill shaped toggles on top of each other) and tap the Automation Trigger
- Select your trigger mode
- Start the trigger
- Save
In your shortcut, tap the automation button and tap the App Notification option. Select Automation Control as the app and set it to Run Immediately. Now, on the time interval you’ve set, the notification will appear and the shortcut automation will run.
Automation Trigger Details:
- Enable Automation Trigger: you already know what that does
- Trigger Mode: Every Interval/Hourly on the Hour/Date & Time Conditions (based on the date and time conditions set in the Additional Conditions section)
- Keep Control Item Name as Title: Show or Hide the name of the controller item or replace it with the custom text you input in the optional Notification Text field. If the toggle is set to On, both the name and custom text will display.
- Start/Stop Trigger: Begin or end the notification schedule

Notification grouping and all pending notifications being cleared after opening one of the notifications received.
Though Notification Grouping is set to Automation in system settings, they come in mixed together vs being grouped by subreddit. Is there something on the backend that has to be done to achieve grouping the notifications by sub?
Also, if there are multiple notifications pending user interaction, tapping one of those notifications to open to the post clears out the remaining notifications, preventing access to them. Is it possible to get the remaining notifications to remain until accessed or manually cleared?
