Abandonment issues

Not to get all serious in here, but for a second I want to switch the tone a little and share something. So Since I was relatively young, I had abandonment issues. People would randomly walk out on me, never come back...

Then I would just report them on steam or riot client, depending on which game I was playing, cuz that definitely was an issue I feel like. I really don't like people leaving without any repercussions. Like get your shit together.

For example, I saw one time a dad beat the mom and to my surprise, it was the dad that abandoned the family, not the mom. A person like that father is not someone who I'd like to have in my 5v5 competitive team game as this person does not seem to be very cooperative.

-----------------------------------------

Would love some feedback on the idea and how unpack it. This will mostly be for the audience that is involved in video games or knows a fair deal about that for it to make sense to them.

Was it clear? Was the thought process good? It's one of my first attempts at writing jokes and really learning to do it so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

How do yall deal with constant irritation/tickling in the throat?

So, I've recently have been affected by GERD which has only happened to me a couple of times in the past (for prolonged periods of time). Right now it's been going for weeks already and it does not seem to go away.

One thing that has been happening, however, is that my throat is constantly irritated (or feels like it's tickly or whatever the correct description for that is). I constantly want to cough. On top of that, god forbid I do something with my voice like sing, inhale a warmer steamy thing, talk louder or anything else and I might irritate it even further, leading to consistent coughing.

The problem is that most of the stuff that I like to do in my life is related to the speech (using your voice).

Are there ways to calm that down or remove that completely? Besides the obvious- solving the GERD itself.

How do you practice comebacks, becoming more witty impromptu?

Hi, people! This is a bit more of a technical question.

I only recently started trying to come up with jokes. I never did this throughout my life (consciously sitting and trying to come up with things).

Currently, I'm doing it by writing things down and then fixing it up until hopefully it sounds and connects well

So this lead me to a fundamental question about comedy-related things- how do you practice being funny? Having great jokes in your arsenal? Comebacks? To come up with silly/funny things to say on the spot? Wittiness?

I can see how sitting down and writing jokes and them submitting then to your memory once they're created is a way for you to increase the amount of jokes that you carry within you that later on you can basically pull out.

But the rest of it? Can you practice all those aspects on your own? Like maybe writing things down? Creating? Forming ideas/things? Practicing saying them out loud until you're efficient, so to speak, and doing it?

I love a lot of comedians and they're quite different. Some have very specific characteristic traits in terms of delivery and image, some have more of a storytelling type, some are very good and constant back and forth with the audience and getting laughs by connecting seemingly random things and so on.

But if I were to choose to practice and try and learn those skills... How would I go about it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but a lot of sub skills/characteristics that I have mentioned above, I have a hard time seeing how I could do something on my own, spends thousands of hours and then it would translate in the desired end result (for example coming up with funny things on the spot, sort of like improv people do or comedians like matt rife)?

Last night during my gaming session I ordered fast food.

It was such a shame because my food was neither fast nor did it listen to my orders. I should probably stop talking to inanimate objects or they'll throw me back into the padded cell.

---------------------------------------

2nd attempt to come up with a joke, any feedback is greatly appreciated! I just tried to make a idea/word play with "order X/order X to do something" and then flipping the expectations by the end even further to create this opposition from what you expect from the 1st line of the joke and what I end up being.

So yesterday I went into the bathroom and first things first I pulled down my pants.

What a shocker, right? The most routine thing ever, everyone does it.

Strangely enough, I met this one guy that did not feel the same way about it. He even became angry at me for some reason.

I mean- ANGRY to the point that he even yelled at me "Fuck off" while he was pulling up the pants that I just pulled down.

Does he not know that that's the first thing you do when you go into the bathroom?

...

On the second note, now that I think about it... what was he doing in my bathroom with my pants on in the first place?

What do you actually do about GERD?

I'm asking this question because in my head (at least in my case), there's a very likely specific cause and automatically a solution to it.

So, I have had GERD in a past, but not for long and only up to a few times overall (in terms of periods). As of this moment, I have one and it's been going for over a couple of weeks I'd say. Currently, I face acid coming up even to the level of the throat, almost past my vocal folds. It's highly unpleasant, feels like burn but once I sit up, it goes back down and the sensations calms.

So, to the cause now- I've been rapidly gaining weight in the last couple of months, and mainly it's because I ate like shit, drank like shit, and a lot of the eating days were me overeating, even sometimes to the point that I would become nauseous.

That, in my head, is a cause to my GERD because I legit did not have GERD for a long, long time now and that's the only thing that has changed.

So, in my head, the solution is to eat cleaner foods, eat way less and maybe do prolonged fasts.

However... When I read up on it, it doesn't seem to be the same for others. It seems like it might not even be the cause or the solution (what I just described). So I'm really not sure what to do about this. What has been your experience? What has helped you?

No job for over a year, and am not sure how I feel about re-entering job market.

This is the first time that I have not been employed for this long, for a year and 3 months approximately.

As of now, there's not a necessity for me to have a job yet but within the next few months, it will be reasonable for me to start working due to finances.

And it feels so weird... I totally don't miss having a job. For whatever reason I just don't. Nothing (at least in my head) excites me about having a job or the kinds of jobs that are potentially available. The stuff that I've worked as in the past (such as IT support specialist for almost 4 years, sales person and even some restaurants) does not seem to entice me at all. Eventually I got bored by the things I've been doing there, things didn't progress and I stopped caring about the job as much.

So... Knowing the history and that I don't have a specific ambition or a precise goal in mind, nor the drive is there... Idk how I feel about re-entering the market and what to do about it

What do you think about this situation? How would you behave in my shoes? What would you do about job hunting in general? Maybe there are ways to seek out something new (or even become aware of new kinds of jobs) where I could potentially try myself out in a new area?

Does eating natural foods actually help you not overeat?

This might be a silly question, but here's where I come from with it. A lot of sources tell us to be eating natural foods so that we'd be healthier overall (nutrients) and also have a better time losing weight (as natural, unprocessed foods are supposed to be more satiating and give us an easier time losing weight).

So I wanted to ask about y'all's experience- if you've been or still are overweight and part of that being overweight issue was/is consuming ultra processed foods (chips, bars, other types of snacks, drinks and so on)- does it really help you if you stay on natural foods? Like do you actually have a hard time overeating because these foods are simply filling, satisfying and you don't feel like eating more which leads to you eating less calorically speaking?
