What is this noise?

Dustin Ball multiple multi floor 2. Every time I shut it down it makes this noise. Been going on for over a year at least, possibly longer. I've taken this thing apart and cleaned it multiple times and it still makes this noise. Any thoughts?

Question about defective windows

I am remodeling my kitchen. I ordered two windows from a local manufacturer. I ordered from them because they are local and have been in business over fifty years. Both windows have manufacturing defects. Both are custom windows, odd sized, and whatnot. The first window was just bad UV coating, which can be replaced on site. The other, however, was a complete bad frame, out of square and a few other issues. I will give them credit for their response, there was immediate acceptance of my call and email and they did get their only technician out to me within a week. They said they would start the first window immediately and get the technician out to my house to replace the sash and glass and it would only take an hour. I'm fine with that, shit happens. The other window they didn't want just my pictures, they wanted the technician to come out and take photos. They told me it would be a few weeks and I pushed back. I'm just a homeowner, this website is replacing a bay window that I removed. Once we find the problems, I didn't fully install it and seal because I'm assuming it'll be replaced. So now there's plastic covering the side of my house. So they said they would get a technician out asap and they did. He was great, very polite and knowledgeable. He said he has to come back. So now he's had to to come back twice and this has delayed things quite a bit. Now the windows are six weeks behind. They are "prioritizing" me but it'll still take two weeks to make the window that needs to be replaced. For reference, it was three weeks to make them when I ordered them.

I'm happy with the response and that the window is being teenage, don't get me wrong. I'm also okay with the mistakes, shit happens.

My question is, have you had anything like this happen on a job and what was the recourse?

Should I be asking for a partial refund? Should I just be happy that I'm getting a new window?

Thanks for any input

Outlet for range hood

I'm renovating my kitchen with my carpenter brother. The kitchen is open to the studs currently and I'm redoing the existing electrical boxes as they are the old metal style and we need to bump the wall out a bit for reasons. I'm no electrician but I'm comfortable with doing this particular work. I currently have a 12/2 romex in the wall for the former over the range microwave. The outlet box needs to be moved as we are replacing the microwave with a chimney style range hood. I've looked at the specs and I believe I can figure out the exact spot to move the outlet box. My worry is that I put the box in and I'm off enough that it won't sit inside the ductwork cover, or that the plug will stick out too far. I had this thought today: could I remove the outlet box and change the other to a single so the romex essentially becomes like an extension cord? Then instead of morning a box to a stud (or to whatever I use to pad out) I could leave the romex loose, create a small hole when he installs the Sheetrock and then plug the vent hood into that, making it flexible. Is that a feasible idea ?

A man asking about talking

I'm a dude. My wife will not participate in prepping as it stresses her out. I find it calming and I do ask the research and prepping for the family. I posted this question in r/preppers and couldn't get a straight answer then the mods deleted it.

I just want to know this: how many tampons would you consider a year's supply?

I do not care about alternatives, I do not need advice, I just want a number from your point of view. I understand that there are variables, I'm looking for what you would consider a year's supply, by number of tampons specifically. If you were at Costco and you could only purchase a box labeled "1 year supply of tampons" what would the number on the side of the box be?

Thank you for your time.

Edit: I appreciate the responses that are answering me with numbers. Especially since my title autocorrected without me noticing. It would have said "tampons" not "talking"

To respond to everyone that wants to give advice: I appreciate where you're coming from, however, I just want this specific answer. I was going to get like a dozen or so answers and gauge what I think would be a good average out of those. I've done the research, I know about cups. I know about pads and period panties. I understand flow. I just wanted a number.

Bar Harbor 4th of July recs

Hi Mainers, we are coming up with the kids for the 4th of July weekend. Staying at the seasider. Looking at the town website there are a lot of family activities so we are pretty excited. The kids are really into American history right now, especially the revolutionary war and founding so I'm pumped to take them to bar harbor.

I'm looking at tide charts and see a low ride at 835pm on the 4th. Does that mean it's easy to wade into the sandbar to watch the fireworks? I've read that is a hidden gem to watch them from there. I know nothing about the ocean though. It appears it'll be 1.5ft, she's that mean deep? Am I reading that correct?

Where are the spots for family friendly dining, where should we avoid?

Should we try to drive to Cadillac mountain for sunrise or take a shuttle?

What trails should we seek out for hikes with two elementary aged kids?
