Just finished up my first knife forged out of a 6x1 flatbar any tips for getting less agressive hammer marks like in the first pic? already ground down the edges of my hammers to help with that but any tips are appreciated!

New to working on motorcycles and the 3rd owner of a savage I recently bought and I’m looking to keep everything in/on it working right.
The speedometer doesn’t work/read I took off the cable and it spins freely and from what I see sits right on the gauge and transmission and are not overly worn out.
I put the cable back on the gauge and spun the other end with a drill and the gauge didn’t budge. Is there a way to fix the speedometer gauge myself or would jt be better to order another one?
Any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated!!
Just bought this 86 Suzuki and it runs great the problem is that the speedometer doesn’t read at all when riding
I’ve been looking at videos and reading on it and all I’ve seen is people with the cable attached on the front wheel and non implemented speedometer where as mine has it attached to the right side(red dot) and runs under the gas tank (blue dot) to the meter attached to the gas tank
What would be the best course of action to see if the cable is sitting right/spinning and when done if that’s not the problem what would be the next course of action. Thanks!
