A word for walking on crutches, but casually?

Like just walking... on crutches. I'm writing a character who uses crutches, and it feels off-putting to say she walks, because she doesn't. My words so far are stuff like 'pulling herself forward, maneuvering, and "crutching" per google's response. But I don't know how to describe it further. She's not hobbling or limping, as she's used to the crutches after having used them all her life and is actually quite swift. She's walking... on crutches.

You can tell not having a word for this is driving me cuckoo bananas.

edit: I just want to specify that she uses forearm or Lofstrand crutches, so she can't "swing" or what you would expect of your average axillary crutches.

What's a joke (whether in a lyric or in the interval between songs) from a musical that's stuck with you forever?

I'll go first.

"The internet is for p0rn!"

(Sorry Kate!)

requesting the fluffiest of fluffy MC's please!

I need need need books with both FMC's and MMC's who are super duper affectionate towards each other. Cuddling, snuggling, all the vibes. Especially in a non-sexual way. Minimal spice is fine, but I'm mostly locked in on the stuff that makes you stop and weep about being a single pringle.

(I definitely don't mind third-act break ups, especially where groveling is involved.)

THANKS!!!

boy + girl name pairs that are super similar, to the point of being ridiculous

So this one might be a long shot, but I have this idea for a romance novel where both mc's have the same or similar names. Probably sort of an inside joke between them since they were kids, or at least an annoying perk that always ends up driving the two together. They still need to be easy enough to distinguish from each other, so no Aurelia x Aurelio vibes or a male name and it's female variant, but generally think what would normally be way too matchy matchy for twins.

The only example I can think of for this is Ren and Rynn. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

edit: WOAH this post blew up. thank you to everyone who suggested names!

contemporary NA little-to-no spice romances where he's a blushing, flustered, adorably awkward mess for her?

I know this isn't exactly a brand new request but I have a craving for NA romcoms where he's the one who's always blushing. I feel like a lot of the books I've read are obsessed with their stoic grumpy MMCs, or even if he's a golden retriever, his relentless flirting is enough to turn her tomato. I get that a lot of slow burn tingles come from mutual physical hints of attraction, but I need her to be a black cat who rarely shows her internal swooning, and he's a walking fire hydrant. Doesn't hurt if he's loved her forever, or if he's attracted to literally the most normal things about her. And I also love the virgin hero trope. The best example I've found is {Playing Defense by Lyssa Lemire}, which inspired this post. And like the title says, not necessarily but preferably behind closed doors spice-wise. Thanks!

Can someone explain the high school version of Avenue Q to me?

Lucy the Professional And Respectable Adult Entertainer? The internet is for netiquette and responsible choices? I'm at a loss.

EDIT: From the wiki page:

Avenue Q: School Edition

Avenue Q and Music Theatre International collaborated on the Avenue Q: School Edition to facilitate production of the musical by high school drama departments. Most of the profanity and sexual themes are removed from the script and score, and two songs ("My Girlfriend Who Lives in Canada" and "You Can Be As Loud as the Hell You Want") are removed. "The Internet Is for Porn" is replaced with "My Social Life Is Online", and Trekkie's obsession with pornography is replaced by an obsession with social networking sites. The characters Mrs. Thistletwat and Lucy the Slut are renamed Mrs. Butz and Lucy, respectively. The scenes involving the Bad Idea Bears are altered to deemphasize alcohol.

he falls first romance recs?

sooo it's my first time posting on this sub, so I'm kind of testing the waters. I'm open to anything, but my favorite tropes include:

- he falls first (wildly romantic!)

- childhood best friends to lovers (but he's loved her unrequited, like Grumpy Darling)

- enemies to lovers (except he only pretends not to like her)

And number one is when he is a fumbling, blushing mess around her at all times. The one book I've read that does this super well is Playing Defense by Lyssa Lemire, but that's not YA.

thank you!!!!

Give me your top three boys names and I'll rate them :)

It might take me some time (edit to say quite a lot of time, a LOT of people responded lol), but promise I'll get to everything.

Mine are Emmett, Griffin, and Rory.

What's a nickname that you tried to go by but realize now it was weird and never caught on?

Mine was KD. I tried to convince people it was short for Katherine. It wouldn't have been too bad, but I had been previously going by Katie, which obviously sounds very similar. So it kind of turned conversations with me into a chore. "Oh hey, Katie-" "IT'S KD NOW OKAY?"

Why are there so many boys names that are living a double life as last names?

I looked at the top 1000 boys names list for this year, and all I could think was that they're literally all last names. Okay, not all, but an awful lot of them. How do first names become last names, or is it vice versa? Educate me. I can include part of the list in an edit of this if you wish.

Rank My Name List

Girls - Eulalie, Orly, Isolde (Zolie),Primrose (Posie), Olivette, Phoebe, Persephone (Effie), and Astrid (Attie).

Boys - Logan, Elliot, Emmett, Griffin, Blake, Leo, Auden, and Theodore (Teddy).

As you can see, I really like nicknames, but most of the nicknames are only used affectionately and not normally. Except for Posie, because Posie felt too nickname-y to be alone, but I don't like Primrose alone either (Other full names for Posie?).

Thanks!

What's a scene or situation in a book (preferably romance) that you haven't read or seen before but would want to read if you heard about? A half-baked idea for a meet cute or interaction that you would like to see in a book?

Names Juju Can Nickname For

So I'm writing a best friends to lovers, and I really want his special nickname for her to be Juju. But the only options I can think of for full names are the obvious. Julia, variations of Juliet, June, Judith. And for me, I read most Ju- names as the Spanish pronunciation, so Juju is out of the book unless it's Hoo-hoo. So I am requesting outside help. It doesn't necessarily have to start with Ju- (ie, Anjulina or something) but it would be nice if it did.

So far the one I like the most but can't use is Julieta (hoo-lee-eh-ta), if that gives you a sense of my taste.

Thank you!

Rare(ish) EU/AU Names?

I'm looking for names that start with eu. Currently my list goes "Eugene, whatever the female version of that is... yeah that's it." I have a lot more AU names (Aurelia, Auri{e}, Aud, Aum, Aullie, etc.) so I'm looking for more rare ones of those, but yeah. Also any phonetically interesting names. I'm kinda on a weird-vowel-name-character streak right now. Thanks!

Favorite 'Girl's Girl' Names?

Girls names that you associate with/perceive as sweetness or kindness, whether through its meaning or not. I think it's more of a personal opinion whether a name sounds like this to you, but for me my favorites are Piper, Tillie, or Sunny. Asking for character name ideas and also just out of curiosity.
