DLSU or ADMU?

For context, I applied to M Marketing Comms (MMC) at DLSU (still waiting for the results) and to MA Comms at ADMU (I got in!).

Two different programs, but under almost the same branch. I know MMC is more on the practical side, while MA Comms is more research- and academe-oriented.

But still, I’m curious—what’s in it for me? I need testimonies about the two, kasi I’m honestly torn. I don’t know which is more “worth it” in terms of academic load, class size, environment, professors, curriculum, long-term benefit, etc.

I don’t know if I should risk deferring my admission to Ateneo (July 4 kasi deadline to confirm) so* *I can wait for the release of my DGAT results (first week of August pa).

What is it like to study MMC in DLSU?

How did it help you long-term (in an industry sense)? How does it differ from the curriculum of MA Comms?

Anyone here applied to Ateneo under the MA Communications?

I took the AGAT last May 9, and I haven’t heard from them since.

I know not all departments conduct admission interviews, but I was wondering: did anyone here already receive an interview schedule from the Communications Department?

I’ve been seeing threads kasi that the applicants under the Psychology programs have started receiving emails. 🥹

I can’t help but overthink if I should just accept my fate that I failed LMAO. 😅🤣

Has anyone got an invite?

Hi! I applied under the MA Communications and had my test taken last May 9.

I saw other applicants from other departments receive their interview schedules na, but as for the communications department, is the interview part of the application process, too?

If so, should I just accept that I didn’t get in? Kasi, I didn’t hear from Ateneo na after I took the exam. 😪

Thoughts on this?

Crazy how the tragic incident became a “Mindanao vs. Luzon” narrative pushed by some netizens.

It’s crazy how quickly some people have turned this into a political “gotcha” moment.

You can read the full article here. Nonetheless, make ADMU accountable! I can’t believe they’re ruining the reputation they've built over years for one coach. 🥴 This is NOT the Ateneo I know.

What is it like in Grad School?

Hello! Please hear me out, because I’ve always been curious what the grad school culture is like in DLSU and Ateneo.

I graduated from 🐯, and I witnessed how UST celebrates their grad students (kahit pa professionals na ang majority sa kanila). They get to join the Goodwill Games (parang univ-wide intrams), Welcome Walk, Bacc Mass, etc.

As someone who’s really into things like that, I’m anxious na baka wala na gaanong festivities sa DLSU / Ateneo. (For context, I applied to both universities kasi they offer the master’s degree I’m eyeing for na wala sa USTe).

Oo na, ang dami kong energy for someone who wants to study pa. Hindi ko lang kasi kaya na puro aral lang*(I’m working na rin naman, but I need life too!).*

Hi! I came from a whole different field (I graduated with a design-related degree) and have been working in a Marketing Agency for ~a year (the sudden career path was expected; I never liked my bachelor’s degree, but that’s for a different story).

I’m curious about the Master’s culture/environment at 3 Universities (🦅 🏹🐯) and how their MA Communications (Ateneo & UST) / M Marketing Communication (DLSU) differ from each other.

In full honesty, I’m the type of person who appreciates the culture within the campus. I enjoy university activities, the UAAP fandom, etc., but more importantly, the university that will help me grow in the career I want (I was thinking of staying in agencies, but I'm more aligned with social media, copywriting, marketing, client-facing, etc.).

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate pros + cons / some advice! I’m taking it as a part-time student. ⭐️
