recently licca has been having a lot of collabs, but i noticed that kuromi seems to get the most stuff. i know there was a tv show with my melody and kuromi, but kuromi seems to get more dolls. they both got two basic dolls, however kuromi has had another doll with multiple clothing items and is now getting yet another doll with some extras. she also got a room playset and possibly more stuff that i’m not thinking of right now. i don’t have anything against kuromi, im just genuinely curious why she gets so many collabs, even more than her co-star. out of all sanrio characters i think her and hello kitty have the most (she’s the face of sanrio so it makes sense in her case).

this is just a bit of rant, i’m not sure if this is allowed so please do take it down if it isn’t. i know AI is becoming more and more prevalent, but using it for dolls specifically feels honestly stupid to me. like dude, you still have to make the dolls. the AI can’t do that for you. you really couldn’t hire a real person to design the doll or the box art?? how awesome that one of my hobbies is contributing to the destruction of the planet!! this is seriously so disappointing and it’s really sad that nothing will be done about it because a bunch of parents who don’t care to look into it will still buy the dolls.

i don’t want to buy something made with AI, and i’m really sad because i feel like it will reach the point where i just can’t buy most mainstream dolls anymore. dolls are very important to me and literally keeping me alive to some degree, but i dont want to support something so destructive. this whole situation is just really sad

if not, where else would she release? would i be able to get her on amazon japan or something?

i’m very tired of this trope. it’s kind of annoying whenever i play an rpg and meet a character of the same sex and i just know they’re going to somehow be made to fall in love. it kind of just boring and it has become annoying to me at this point. it hardly ever feels natural. so what are some games where they can be just friends? this should preferably be an rpg or something story focused. i’d prefer no romance at all, but i could also accept a main focus on the friendship between a man and a woman and romance as more of a side thing or a romance happening to a secondary character

im trying to get into final fantasy because i do genuinely like jrpgs, however the turn based style of the older ones makes me want to rip my eyes out. the problem is ive heard a lot of people think the newer, more action oriented ones aren’t as good. are there any you’d recommend?

kind of like when you’re a kid and you get a new toy but you feel bad about liking it more than your old one. i’ve done this with a few games. i loved zelda BOTW and then i played majoras mask which i have to admit i like more, even if i spent so much time with BOTW. i’ve loved undertale my whole life but more recently i just feel like deltarune is more exciting? possibly because it still gets new releases. i somehow feel upset thinking about this😭 do you guys struggle with this as well

zelda remake?? final fantasy hd-2d?? new xenoblade AND upgrade packs?? DELTARUNE!??

it sucks so bad. it feels incredibly bad and cheap and just WILL NOT do what i want it to. oh it held a shape for a little too long? you’re stuck with that now. oh you want to boil wash? it will get fucked up. oh you found a doll with a very pretty face? it has poly hair (looking at you g3 cleo). and they have the AUDACITY to combine poly with tinsel??? i’m a collector and it annoys me, i cannot imagine the little kids who tangle the dolls hair and never play with it again. i would take less/no accessories if it meant poly went away

for me it’s the pokemon games. they mostly have turn based combat. not my thing. they have okayish but not great stories. not my thing. they are kind of samey and don’t really switch up the gameplay loop. not my thing. and yet, every time one comes out i must have it. i guess there’s just something about those little creatures combined with childhood memories. what game is this for you?

kind of in a way that the story as a whole is a big puzzle? like you might go to a certain room and find out something about it later that unlocks something else. i’m very bad at explaining this but if you played in stars and time it’s kind of like that

this will have very minor early game spoilers since it’s just the demo anyway. i haven’t finished playing this at the time of writing but im about 2 hours in.

the prologue demo recently released and this is my most anticipated game of the year so of course i wanted to play it. overall, i will say i really like it. the combat is great (for a zelda like game) and overall its really giving me that sense of discovery i felt as a kid playing zelda, which is awesome because who knows when the next zelda game is coming out. the story is also pretty interesting imo, good enough to make me want to see what happens next, and i love time travel bullshit anyway.

now here’s the less good parts. as a male adventurer in this fantasy kingdom, you will, of course, meet the princess. this is when the game starts hinting at them falling in love. i can’t describe how much i hate this trope. at least link and zelda don’t fall in love, and if they do, they usually had something going on for a while. this is just “hey, you just met this girl but you’re in love with her now right?”. i felt like they were pushing her too much. she casts this spell that makes her be able to talk to you through your earring without telling you, which is weird asf but the game treats it as a quirky little thing. she also hasn’t seen the outside world, so now she needs to accompany you in order to learn very basic things. it seems kind of infantilizing to me.

princess heuria accompanies elliot during the entire section of the demo ive played so far which just made this whole issue worse. i was already weirded out by them being so close so quickly, and now i feel like the game is trying to make me care about heuria but i kind of don’t because she’s a walking stereotype. i want my little fairy friend from the other demo back.

if anyone actually read this, thank you. i’m curious if others were bothered by these things as well or if i’m just too sensitive

i know there’s already been posts about yellowing so this is nothing new. i love my oasis lagoona but her hands have yellowed so easily. honestly im more bothered by the difference in color between the hands and the rest of her.

i know exposure to light always causes some sort of discoloration over time but this is very quick! and i also find it strange that only the hands are that rubbery material. genuinely curious, does anyone know WHY they use it? it’s on the new creepros too😔

i don’t have much to say but basically i generally have a pretty bleak outlook on life but when i look at or hold my monster high dolls i feel so at peace. honestly it makes me a little emotional sometimes. i get a lot of hate for collecting dolls at my big age but i really don’t think i’ll ever stop because they bring me a lot of joy. i hope everyone here is able to get similar happiness from their dolls <3

i think most pokemon with slender limbs look a little weird. for example liepard and the eeveelutions standing up in plush form weirds me out😭

currently japanese game publishers are having a sale for golden week. there’s so many options and im not exactly sure what to get. i know about final fantasy, mana and saga but honestly not many other series are coming to mind. i prefer rpg or action games. any recommendations?

i’m not necessarily asking for a female protagonist since that’s not very realistic and i also don’t really care about the gender. the thing is so many of these games have really bland women or they’re too into the mc. i’m playing so2 and i like it but why does EVERY female party member get a crush on the mc😭 and if they don’t then they kind of just have no personality it’s honestly exhausting. i played the demo of ffxvi recently and i can just tell that jill or whatever her name was will be extremely unimportant and just there to be a romantic interest character. any games they have normal women?

i’m finishing the star ocean 2 remake and like it a lot but the combat is a little bit boring. i saw that the new one has action style combat which is much more appealing to me, however from watching the trailer the models look a bit stiff? i’m also wondering if the story is good and if there’s still rpg elements like stats or leveling up the different skills. also is there an option to choose between 2 protagonists again?
