PCT bag rec

Looking to do the PCT either next year or the following. Wondering what warmth rating of bag/quilt people are bringing. I’m 6’6 250 so need something somewhat large. I like bags and have been looking at the western mountaineering (have their Kodiak 0 degree for snow and love it) terralite which is a 25 degree bag but I’m wondering if that would be too warm? Megalite and astralite are both around 32 degree and that seems like a safe bet. Any input is great! Not sure about quilts, I really like being able to zip up into the bag, had my eye on the Katabatic 20 degs but not sure I want to do a quilt. Thanks!

21 M time?

Thinking about maybe doing a buzz this summer to embrace my obviously thinning hair’s future. Or should I take the plunge? First couple pics are without recent haircut, following are a few from right after one.

Edit: not one Mel Gibson gif, ill report back with the buzz in a month more than likely

So I know they aren’t widely available in America, neither are the one plus or x9 pro from what I’ve seen. But it looks like I could order one on eBay? Does anyone know if those are likely to be fake or if there’s a solid chance I’d be alright with one of them?

So I’m taking the calories burned with a grain of salt, it’s got me down for almost 1200 burned working out for 1hr 45 min. I go hard in the gym but can’t imagine I’m burning that many calories. Has anyone done any actual testing on it? Or should I just go with maybe 2/3s of what the watch says?

Thinking of making the switch, don’t really enjoy the fact that Apple makes things to fail when they put out new iOS updates. I’ve always had an iPhone and am used to it but definitely open to something new. Not in the ecosystem whatsoever, windows computer, garmin fenix 7 etc. from what I’ve seen android does better with data transfer through windows anyway. Currently on a iPhone 13 Pro with a shattered back and fuzzy unfocusing cameras so anything would probably be better.

So I’m between the pixel 9 pro xl and the one plus 15 or maybe oppo x9 ultra.

I like the pixel but am not a fan of the ai, knowing myself I’d use it too much and don’t really want to.

The one plus 15 is epic with the battery and water ratings (lots of hiking and wet activities) but I’ve heard the camera isn’t awesome

Oppo x9 pro seems like a solid choice but haven’t done as much research about it.

Could also just be lame and get a 17 pro but kinda feeling something new. Any suggestions are welcome. I also plan on traveling out of country so it seems like a physical sim may be smart too but not necessary. Just don’t want a shit camera and want a good battery.

Fenix 7x solar

Pretty confused, just bought a garmin branded cable for the express purpose of downloading maps using garmin express. The watch won’t download on wifi on its own so tried this route. Now i cant get the watch connected to the computer even with the garmin brand cable. It’s charging which means it’s connected but the computer won’t read it. Other than using a different computer it seems that I’ve run out of options.

If you’re wondering about the wifi downloading not working the short explanation is that there’s some sort of glitch in the watch that when I click add anything on topoactive maps, it thinks I clicked the subscription one and won’t let me download anything. Pretty ridiculous to have this sort of issue.

Happy to entertain any suggestions

Update: was able to download North America and started it last night after turning off phone connection. Woke up this morning and South America was downloaded, deleted it and tried again but now am getting the same “no active subscriptions” notification when I try to download a new map in topoactive. Is this some sort of glitch or something?

Getting a little frustrated here and hoping someone can help. Fenix 7x, trying to put some sort of map on. I go into the maps folder and click the topoactive maps, it says it’s trying to connect to WiFi and then after a while just goes back to the option to add maps on the topo active folder, clicked again and same thing happened. Its got some random bullshit new zeland golf map that doesn’t even open, I already put the watch on my wifi but don’t really know what else to do.

Pressing topoactive and “add map” I keep getting a “no subscription detected” notification. Makes no sense as this is the free option no?
