Naked Bloor-Yonge

Noticed the last few weeks that almost all the false ceilings have been removed at bloor. On the platforms and in the ticket halls

Funny how the TTC wants to make it explicitly clear that line 5 is not maintained by them

Ads have reached Apple Maps Canada…

So so disappointing. Can’t stand this endless compare greed cycle we’re in. Ad here ad there ad everywhere

TTC website ridiculously broken

most online services offered by the TTC are either offline or partially working. Even their API has been down for the past day.

Why did the TTC slow down Streetcar Doors?

Am I crazy or did the the TTC slow down the doors on the Flexitys?? if so, I personally don't really think it was a good call... sure, they're quick, they were can catch somebody who is mid boarding. but I mean isn't that true of almost any automatic door? You rush towards a door shutting and your surprised when it clips you? feels like maybe it was one of those overly precautious ttc decisions that favours the very very slim ammount of incompetent users that might theoretically get "hurt".

Before TfL Go, Nintendo had us covered.

Very charming Tube Map application by Nintendo released in 2009, called 'City Transport Map'. It's pretty obscure as it was only released digitally for the DSi (it doesn't work with normal DS or DS Lite). You can't get it through any legitimate means anymore.

Even includes a game where you are given stations and have to find the correct route between them by selecting the correct lines. Also includes interesting trivia about the Tube's history.

E-ink displays (presumably) are coming soon to your bus stop

It’s been long overdue that the TTC expanded its arrival screens from the miserable excuse that is Astrals, shelter screen. This looks promisinglink here to the story

Edit: sad to say I am not surprised by the sheer amount of people in these comments that cannot celebrate one good thing if there fucking life depended on it. Don’t understand how you see investment in things the legitimately do good and think “welp; how shit our agency, doesn’t give a shit about us” pathetic and frankly this attitude is what conditions the TTC to give less a shit about us when every single step forward is discarded and tossed aside as a failure. Do better yall, this is the city we have

Open door buttons covered

I’ve noticed recently the TTC has been covering the buttons that open the door from the outside when the bus is at a stop. What’s the point in that? Many European cities have busses with these doors and they’re very convenient especially during winter when the busses keep their doors closed to prevent the warm air from escaping
