Everything is too heavy. How do you live this way?

Hi. I'm looking for empaths who have some life under their belt. I'm pretty young (22), but I've only felt things harder as I've gotten older.

Recently the weight of some things is just very very heavy.

I'm just wondering... How? How do you balance this weight. How do you live life day to day and stay happy with all of this heaviness?

This is silly but I feel very strongly for animals, specifically cats. My mom offhandedly mentioned that she's worried someone might be being mean to a neighborhood cat because he's been skittish. I just can't let that go. I feel so so sad for him and I want him to be okay.

I'm sorry I'm just emotional. I feel this way often about situations regarding people, animals, etc.

If you've been living as an empath for awhile ... How do you not become sad and miserable?

Xbox Turning Off and Blinking Orange PLEASE HELP

Hello! My husband just purchased an original Xbox for his birthday. He got the time set up, looked around a bit and then walked away. When he came back to turn it back on it would start to power up and then just shut off and start blinking orange.

I can upload a video if it helps. I just really want to help if possible because he was super excited.

Is this a cord issue? Is it fixable? Or do we need to just return it and try again?

Thank you so much in advance. I'm way out of my realm here.

Kindergarten, first year, first day: HOW DO YALL DO THIS?

This won't be eloquent, sorry.

I'm a first year teacher, fresh out of college and into kindergarten. I've always had a strong conviction for how I wanted my classroom to look. I modeled my ideal classroom after teachers that I admired.

Well, anyway, today was day one, and... Wtf?! I don't feel totally defeated...I mean... I'm not crying or anything. Buuuut the kids definitely don't listen to me. Like they were up out of their seats and walking to stem bins/toys/etc. of course I redirected them to their seats, but I had to walk over and physically guide them. It feels like my words don't hold any weight to them lollol. I had to repeat myself SO many times.

I always hear that the first days of school are critical. Sink or swim. Life or death. Set expectations, follow through, and prep yourself for success. Well I thought I would do that😭 But man it was easier in my head. I'm just afraid of messing this up. I don't want to do the first days wrong and have a terrible year. I'm always hearing to be firm at first and I'm trying but I don't want them to get soooo used to hearing my "firm" voice that it doesn't hold any weight or scariness.

I can give more specifics about behavior if needed BUUUT yeah I just wanna hear suggestions and opinions for day 2 forward. I love my kiddos and I don't just want to be a teacher I want to be a GOOD teacher.

how to ignore cravings/food noise?

hello! I've been working towards only eating 1200 calories a day. It's been going ... okay. 1200 IS enough. Hunger isn't the issue. It's the cravings... The thoughts in the back of my head telling me to eat eat eat. It literally almost feels impossible to ignore. I struggle with this the most at night while watching TV. I feel like I NEED to eat a little snack even when I've already hit my calorie limit or I'm supposed to be done eating for the day due to 16:8 fasting.

I don't know how to put into words how hard it is to ignore. It just grates on my brain and it's hard to think about anything else until I give in. Is this normal??

Does this go away or get easier? How can I get past this road block? Do I just genuinely need more self discipline? Or are there other tips?

Absolutely any advice is soooo appreciated. Especially if you've experienced this yourself. Thank you so much in advance!!

Also, I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this, so if you know of any other subs that might be more helpful please lmk!
