What's the opposite of the pet the dog/save the cat trope?

I mean a moment early on that lets you know a character that's generally really moral and heroic isn't a complete goody two-shoes (as opposed to a moment that lets you know a villainous character isn't a complete and total ass). The example I'm thinking of is from a pretty obscure movie where it's implied early on the otherwise upstanding protagonist might have cheated a bit on his taxes.

People who wear sunscreen every day: how do you stand the smell?

I know how important it is but I've never been able to make myself because of the smell. I've tried the Neutrogena dry-touch stuff and while it's an improvement, it's still not something I can tolerate all the time. I don't know if I'm just unusually sensitive to the smell or if there's some obvious fix/product that I'm missing; any suggestions? I just inherited a house that needs a ton of yard work so I really need to start wearing it.

The Serenity Spread

I wanted to share a 3 card spread I created a few years ago that has been working really well for me as a quick check-in, or as a starting point when I'm not sure what question I need to ask. It's based on the Serenity Prayer (you know the one: grant me the courage to change what I can, the serenity to accept what I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference)

Card 1: Something I can/should change about my situation

Card 2: Something I can't/shouldn't change

Card 3: Where I can seek wisdom

For an example spread: I did this spread after receiving some frightening news about a family member's health. I drew the 2 of swords, the Tower, and the 10 of wands. The 2 of swords as what I can/should change told me that I needed more information and I shouldn't leap into action just yet. The Tower as what I can't/shouldn't change warned me that this is going to be a time of upheaval no matter what I do, and that accepting this would save me from a lot of time and anguish spent resisting. The 10 of wands as a source of wisdom told me it was time to seek help from family and friends who could take on some of my tasks so I wasn't so overburdened.

This spread is really helpful for me and I hope some of you find it useful too!
