pro editors, what tools do you use?

I'm a profesisonal scriptwriter and graphic designer so i know my way around Adobe and i get basic principles of design.

I'm just curious what tools folks use for professional editing? I'd like to give it a go one day to see if i can expand my freelance offerings

already have plenty of experience editing short form (CapCut) and already have a full adobe suite

really excited to hear how folks work. im such a nerd for the creative BTS kind of bits!

My former abuser approached me from behind in a bar

I'll keep this short because I honestly I just wanted to post this to a group of folks who "get it".

The guy who groomed me into this weird sex cult (I'm 2 years free) approached me from behind in a bar last week. He didn't know it was me.

I was facing my friend when she said, "he's behind you" -- I thought it was a poor taste joke, but it wasn't, haha

He realised it was me after seeing my side profile. He shouted some expletives and scuttled away.

I know he ran away because, after leaving, I took my stand and called the authorities (he was arrested and questioned but not charged).

Anyway, here's the real point of my testimonial:

I didn't have any nightmares that night, no weird feelings, but also no dissociative numbness.

I think that EMDR therapy, particularly a forward template, helped me cope with being inches away from my former, less-than-benevolent "God".

I hope this short testimony of freedom helps others who fear this kind of scenario. xx

It's 11pm here....

It's 11pm on a random Thursday and I decided to take a leap.

I'm already a scriptwriter for a few large YouTube channels, and it seems I have a knack for the craft.

I've ideated a few videos, and I'm teasing the idea of recording them.

Your support would mean a lot in a world full of AI slop and people who are generally speaking out for clickbait and coins (:

Thank you x

Do you believe your coach?

Hi folks

so i have a long background in media as a presenter and content producer, specifically in the science & education sector -- after working on youtube ive come to realise just how bonkers some coaches' advice seems to be! im curious to hear your thoughts:

one of my clients insists he needs an immediate payoff -- no worldbuilding, no narrative -- just payoff in the first 30 seconds because he's hitting a 50% retention at T=00:00:30. he feels a 25% retention at 13min is bad, but thats youtube!

i've tried to explain that its totally dependent on the genre, the vibe and the intent -- STEM is so often about curiosity and wonder than an immediate payoff feels cheap, imo.

i'm just trying to put myself back in the shoes of a new 'tuber and connect with how best to support my client.

thoughts very welcome.

what makes you believe in a youtube growth coach? do you always feel that they understand your niche? do you feel a scriptwriter should stay in their lane and leave you and your coach to it?

Might be helpful! Scientist speaking about glp-1s

Hi folks,

I just found this while i was studying for a uni assignment, and it seems to be quite helpful.

A researcher i follow speaks about her thoughts on a new GLP-1 side effects study in it.

Apparently, researchers are finding new side effects all the time thanks to folks on forums like us!
