This is driving me crazy. I watched the show when it came out and it was just really damn good. Recently I wanted to read the book but I hate paperbacks and even more those paperbacks that promote the tv show on them. So I look around to find a hardback but there’s nothing. Actually Folio Society made a premium edition of Shogun but it costs €175 for a really underwhelming edition (Folio Society are known for exceptional design and quality on their books but Shogun was one they missed the mark on) and there seems to be no other good edition. That is such a miss from publishers because this is a book that is highly regarded - has great characters, amazing plot and everything in between. It even got TWO adaptations to film with the second one being extremely successful and you are telling me there’s no good edition of the book?? Sorry for ranting so much. My main question is if anyone knows about any edition I’m missing here and if you guys think it will get a good looking edition soon? Thanks for answering in advance!

I dont have the 2fa of my FB account anymore and im logged out. So i try to do it (first on desktop). I reach the account recovery stage and it tells me I have to continue on the FB app. Okay no problem. I download the app and go through the process there. Everything is well until it asks me to share an ID. I click “proceed” and it pulls up a camera so I can take a picture of my id. I do. It then asks me if its readable. I click “submit” then it loads for a bit and pulls up the camera to take a picture of the ID. I do it again and click submit. It loops back again. Im 99% the UI is straight up broken. Its one thing to have a slow process. Its another to have NO WAY for this to be fixed. Does anybody know how this can be fixed? Thanks to anyone who answers in advance!

When I was young I read a book in the UK around 2018-2020. It had a very weird name. Something like “This is the best book ever written” or “The best book ever” - something along those lines. Im trying to find it but I just cant. Does somebody think of something? I remember it had a bright orange cover. And it’s also a children’s/young adults book. I have curly hair thats about 7-8cm (so not too long) and there’s a dilemma I can’t figure out. When I get out of the shower with wet hair I look MAJESTIC. Perfect curls. Perfect shape and texture. But then I go to sleep, my hair dries while being pushed to the top from the pillow and I end up looking like Frankenstein. Curls are gone. Shape is gone. Texture is gone. Has anyone experienced this? How can I keep that texture (or recreate it in the morning)? Are there products you would recommend? Or maybe a super secret method? Do you remember when we would be genuienly scared of the cave sounds and the monsters? I want that feeling again. I'm not searching for a horror modpack necessarily rather a modpack that improves upon all aspects of minecraft but mainly horror. For example everything is harder to build, there's more to explore and there are so many monsters that you're genuienly terrified. Whenever I leave my base I want feel fear even when i'm with diamond armor. Is there such a modpack? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer in advance!

I recently got back into reading and the thing that brought me back were beautiful books. Seeing a hardcover with a gorgeous cover, sprayed edges and a silk ribbon just make me want to read PURELY because the book itself looks amazing. But my problem is - why is there such little variety in terms of good looking books. There's the Vintage Collectors classics, then special cases like the fahrenheit deluxe slipcase edition (love that book so much) but if I were to search for a book it either has the best most gorgeous design and cover available or absolutely nothing. For example I can't find a good design for Crime and Punishment or the count of Monte Cristo. I would give ALL of my money to buy a good edition of one of those but no publisher produces them. So since this is a subreddit for book collecting (and by extension I would guess yall are pretty educated on deluxe and collectors editions) is there a secret here? Or is the market for such books not big enough for such editions to be produced? Thanks to anyone in advance for answering!

Today I had this discussion with a friend who is almost 50 and we were talking about freelancing and agency work. He was telling me to go to university since I was young but I argued that I should spend those 4 years on actual experience instead of burying my head in textbooks learning theory I'll forget. His point was that when you have a degree you are "somebody" while when you don't have one you are "nobody". He explained that when pitching your service to someone they'll be A LOT more inclined to work with you if you are the guy that has a degree, has finished top of the class, has finished from this prestigious XYZ university rather than the guy with a few example projects. The thing is - I don't have personal experience here. He could be completely right. I haven't reached that stage of my journey where I start contacting clients so I wanted to ask people that actually do this for a living. Does a degree dramatically increase your chances of getting hired? Or is stuff like reputation, testimonials and examples of your work far better for this type of business? Has anybody made a fanmade version of SF2 1v1 mode? I love the games mechanics and how smooth it is. I know there’s shades but I HATE how the characters aren’t even shadows. Its supposed to be SHADOW fight. Anyways as a side question whats your opinion on Shades? Is it what im looking for?

So I hate how when I open my settings and document overview tabs my desktop resolution of the site changes resolution to this half way point between tablet and desktop. My workflow gets interrupted constantly -> opening up the menus -> changing settings -> closing them to see how it looks on actual desktop -> reopening them to change stuff -> rinse and repeat. Is there a plugin or way to make it so the resolution doesn't change when you open up the menus. Thanks to anyone who answers in advance!!

I’m learning how to use Wordpress with GB and GP and I can control everything EXCEPT images. For example if I have a grid with 4 nested containers and I add images inside those containers I can’t for the life of me make those images equal in height and width. The only way i’ve been able to do this is by setting custom widths and heights but that breaks on mobile and tablet. I’ve tried making the aspect ratio of the container be 1:1, make the image object-fit to fill or make the image display type to block. I even tried resizing the images to be the same resolution externally (e.g. 1000x1000) but that stretches and widens the images which now that I think about it does sound logical. Still I feel like they are working against me. Anyone have any tips on how to make images of different sizes and resolutions fit and look equal to each other?

So 2 months ago I bought a digital Piano and I loved it at the start but after literally learning a 15 second snippet of a song I suddenly stopped playing. My main gripe was that I was learning with Synthesia and I was memorising the song the hard way and it was not fun AT ALL but since motivation was high I stuck with it. Since then my motivation has slowly dropped and now I don't play at all. Does anyone have any tips on how to be consistent? I love music and playing but to be honest i'm not the biggest fan of complete memorization. Thanks in advance for any answers!

Im not sure if this is a bug or not but why is the reactive on this skin only activate for like 3 seconds after you get an elim. Isnt that kinda stupid? Wht not make it glow all the time?

I've started learning GB and there's a lot of stuff thats confusing. For example making a container, then making another container inside it and then placing all of your headings and paragraphs in the second container and the point is to control content width with the second container and something else with the parent. It's all very confusing. Is it really necessary? I know that GB is basically implementing coding structure but I was using the default Wordpress blocks before this and they worked fine visually. Maybe i'm missing something here? Thanks to anybody who takes the time to answer!
