MOD ANNOUNCEMENT: Help us pick a new subreddit icon!
Hello All!
To celebrate this sub (nearly) hitting 10k members, we have decided that its time to update some elements of the sub ... specifically the visual side of things. We have already update the banner, and are now looking to potentially change the sub icon.
We (the mod team) had a few ideas already, but we wanted to open the floor to any suggestions as to what the new icon should be (or if we should keep the current one) to make this a more collaborative experience!!
If you have any idea, please share your recommendations in the comments below!
Who do you think ignited Kylo's saber during Han's death? Kylo or Han?
I wanna hear everyone's thoughts on this moment!
It's framed so interestingly in that we see han grab the Saber, but then the camera pans out and we can't really see his hand as it ignites ... leaving the source of the ignition kinda ambiguous, with kylos "thank you" possibly having a double meaning.
I personally think Kylo ignited it, but I'd love to hear your takes on it!

Has anyone else come to appreciate TLJ more because of how TRoS built on it?
I always see people claiming that Rise walks back on The Last Jedi or even shows contempt for it ... but my experience or perspective with the two films has been almost the complete opposite.
After seeing TRoS in theaters, I went back and rewatched TLJ, a film I wasn't particularly fond of at the time, and it finally clicked for me. A big part of that was how TRoS continued so many of its narrative threads.
Ben is still deeply conflicted and unable to let go of Rey. Rey continues to struggle with her self-worth and her need for belonging and validation. Their Force connection evolves into this fascinating dynamic where they're constantly at odds with one another, yet there's still an undeniable attraction beneath the hostility. Luke's final stand on Crait also feels meaningful in retrospect because his act of hope in the face of overwhelming fascism ultimately inspires the galaxy to rise up and answer the call in TRoS. There's many more I could mention but I'm tired haha.
There are certainly some retcons, and I understand why people take issue with them, but they never felt malicious or dismissive of TLJ to me as tbey slways had similar meaning. If anything, I came away feeling that TRoS was trying to build on many of the emotional and thematic foundations that TLJ (or even TFA) had already established.
Did anyone else have a similar experience, or am I in the minority here?
What are some lines from the films that you find yourself using in real life?
Whether it be sincerely or ironically, what lines from the films do you guys find yourselves using in real life?

Interesting analysis from @StarWarsCentralized on the mirroring between Rey's first meeting with Luke and Kylo's first meeting with Palpatine

Messi is back training with Inter Miami after only a 10 day break!
Mood because Star Wars: Legacy comes out tomorrow!!!
Im so excited!!!
The misinformation campaign against Messi during (and after) the World Cup was exhausting. I hope it fades with time.
We are used to all the complaining from a certain sector of fans about fouls, offsides, "incorrect" calls, etc ... but this world cup was a whole other beast with how so many people (that same group and now casuals) were saying blatant lies about Messi and Argentina, not even in regards to what happened on the pitch. And the thing is that those lies were even easy to debunk, but they were so prevelant... and it ended up tsking on a life of its own.
I'm hoping this misinformation doesn't stick around and eventually people either move on or change thier minds, but it was incredibly frusturating to see the goat so baseless slandered by people that know nothing about football.

8 days til Star Wars: Legacy comes out!!
My body isn't ready
Hot take: Given that TLJ ends with Rey holding the broken Skywalker saber, it makes perfect sense that she'd repair it; especially considering her scavenger background and lack of self-confidence.
TLJ explicitly shows Rey leaving with both halves of the broken Skywalker lightsaber, as well as the ancient Jedi texts, which contain knowledge that ultimately helps her repair it. Beyond that, Rey's background as a scavenger means she's spent her entire life salvaging and repairing broken things, making her the perfect person to restore the saber.
It also ties into her character arc. Throughout TFA and TLJ, Rey struggles with self doubt and uncertainty about her place in the galaxy. Traditionally, constructing your own lightsaber symbolizes a Jedi fully embracing their path. At this point, Rey simply isn't there yet. Repairing the Skywalker saber instead reflects where she is emotionally: she's still carrying the legacy she's inherited while trying to find the confidence to forge her own identity.
At the very least its a narrative decision that is definitely possible post TLJ, and is more of a continuation of TLJ than anything else.
