Offering mentorship for step 1

Hi all, I’m a non-US IMG and also the youngest person in my med school to pass USMLE Step 1. I did it while balancing clinical postings, research electives, and extracurriculars during my very hectic academic year. I also scored decently high (mid 70s) on my NBMEs 30 to 33. I’d like to give back to the community and am offering to mentor a few people preparing for the exam.

I will provide one-on-one mentorship all the way from registration to dedicated phase, with weekly check-ins and constant support tailored exactly as per your schedule and study style. I am also happy to provide advice and details regarding my research experience and internships available for indian IMGs.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. TYIA

Does everyone think women are only gold diggers

I vented a few days ago about how financially independent, wealthy women with their own money and opinions are entitled to choose partners who can match their lifestyle, and shaming girls for liking rich guys is just blatant insecurity, and the whole comment section is filled with guys accusing me of being a gold digger or only chasing money or wanting a sugar daddy

Like bro I literally said WOMEN WITH THEIR OWN MONEY. It’s like people forgot that women can actually hold jobs and have successful careers (shocker I know). Genuinely do men assume that women do absolutely nothing but lie unemployed hunting for some rich guy to trap and bankroll them? At this point im genuinely asking if this is just delusion or the ground reality because all the women I know are employed and hardworking, make their own money and none of us expect our boyfriends to pay for everything

Bedroom awkwardness problems

My bf and I are really compatible and I absolutely love him and he dotes on me and I wanna marry him someday. The only issue is that I am the first girl he’s done anything more than kissing with and he’s kinda shy and awkward and doesn’t realise what I want. I’m not really used to asking directly coz my previous boyfriend basically did everything and I was the shy and awkward partner. It’s not like my bf is unwilling, but he just wants me to explain clearly what I need and when

The problem is that we’ve been LDR for two months (with a month remaining). We’re really clingy while we’re in the same city but it’s been a bit hard for us because of the distance now. He asks for intimacy regularly and I’m happy to oblige, the only issue is that he feels shy to dirty talk. He asks very matter of factly and quickly so that he doesn’t have to hear himself I guess? He’s very very shy about it. I don’t mind this part very much though. What I do mind is that I kinda want some attention from him and have been hinting repeatedly but he absolutely doesn’t seem to get it? He wants me to explicitly spell out what I want. I really don’t like doing that and I wish he’d initiate by himself. To which he says that he’s never done that before and doesn’t know how to. Honestly the whole thing is kinda frustrating cuz we’re both grown ahh adults and treating sex like 16 year olds. I don’t mind being more explicit but I feel kinda guilty and always worried of scaring him off.

Example: I’ll say something like I miss him sooo much, to which he responds that he misses me too. Then I clarify that I miss him “in that way”. Then he just gets confused. I clarify that I miss him “how we are when you come over”. And it goes on for 30 minutes. But if I tell him directly he’s like ohhh and is quite happy to oblige

He’s told me to clearly tell him what I want but idk how to broach the topic without getting red and awkward. Any advice would be welcomed

FMT is doing everything it can to fail me and I’m worried that it will affect my USMLE

I’m an MS3 in a GMC in MH and my FMT department seems to have something against me because I score top quartile in theory but like bottom 10% in practical. I’m terrified they’ll hold me back for supplementary exams and it’ll ruin my chances of getting a decent MSPE for the USMLE Match.

My scores in all other subjects are decent and I passed step 1 in my first attempt. Is there anything I can do? Please advise

Do USCE give days off to attend conferences?

I’m currently an MS3 planning to present my research in 2027 and hopefully squeeze a rotation in during my MS4. Most conferences are midweek so was wondering if faculty give a day off to attend conferences in their city or something like that

Offering: English and Hindi, Seeking: Spanish

Hi everyone, im 20F from India. I’m a medical student immigrating to the US. I am looking to improve my vernacular Spanish so I can better communicate with Latin American patients.

My interests include motorcycles, painting, science, general knowledge and honestly just fun gossip. I’d prefer a female medical student partner, or at least someone who is interested in random biology lectures as I primarily need to learn Spanish to communicate within the healthcare system. However, I’d love to get to know you and your interests better as well.

I’m a native English speaker and have ten years experience speaking Hindi. I’m fluent in “tatsam” (pure/ Sanskrit) Hindi, as well as vernacular Mumbai slang. Hoping to connect!

Step 2 study material

Hey, I just passed step 1 and am aiming to give step 2 within the next 2-2.5 years. Im currently an MS3 Non-US IMG, and was planning to study for my university exams using USMD material itself, as I had a really hard time juggling the Indian and American syllabus together.

Could someone please recommend a good video lecture to start clinical subjects from scratch? Or should I stick to standard textbooks or just start with step 2 UWorld? TYIA
