Found cat won’t leave our yard

Long haired white cat with gray patches. Very friendly. They have been hanging around our house and yard all last night, and this morning the cat started meowing/scratching at our door. We’re in the Hector Campbell neighborhood.

Timeline issue

In the first episode, Sugar tells the limo driver that he lived in Damascus "before all the trouble." That's a reference to the Syrian Civil War, which began 14 years ago. But now we're told he's only been on Earth 11 years?

Only the Mockingbird sings at the edge of the woods

Walter Tevis's novel Mockingbird is set in a future where the art of reading has been lost. One character Bentley, has rediscovered reading, but is forbidden from teaching it to others. Instead, he's given a job recording the recording the intertitles of silent movies. One of the intertitles he encounters is "only the mockingbird sings at the edge of the woods" which gives the novel its title.

I'm told this is not a real line from a real movie. But many of the movies Bentley watches are real, and it feels strange that Tevis would make up this one line. Could it be from one of the thousands of surviving films few living people have seen?

Reporting Fireworks

They're illegal here, but enforcement isn't a priority, so calling 911 just ties up the operators to no effect. Still, there's an online form you can use. Might have some effect on the problem.

Anyone who wants to tell me to chill out can **** off. Last year, fireworks caused 30,000 fires (including 3,000 structure fires), 13,000 injuries, and 15 deaths. A few years ago, an apartment building near me was totaled on July 4, with 3 people killed.
