Skellig Michael's death stairs in Ireland

Several hikers died from falling off these steps. The "death stairs" earn their ominous nickname due to their 618-step ascent, sheer unfenced drops onto jagged rocks, and several tragic tourist fatalities.

I drive past these beautiful stairs regularly, they've been there since at least winter

This is part of some renovation project that's been going on since at least december of last year (so yes they were used in wet and icy weather). I sadly could not get a better pic without looking like a creep but they lead to the ledge of a roof that is currently (still) being worked on.

The stairs at my previous apartment

the carpet is very old and worn down which has caused me to slip on the narrow steps at the bottom while walking down. Eventually realized it was best just not to wear socks or walk with intention. Complete with brick landing pad.

Beach access stairs in Saint John NB

Frequently changing slope and material, rusted through in many places.

Hard to capture in photos just how steep they get about midway up.

Is my stairwell too garish? Should I paint the trim to match the carpet or the wood floor?
