Pour le coup je ne sais pas si c’est si impopulaire mais depuis plusieurs jours je ne vois que des conversations sur l’éclipse, la pénurie ou le prix des lunettes… ça me fait soupirer. C’est si impopulaire d’en avoir strictement rien à foutre de regarder l’éclipse?

Hello, F43 perimenopausal, my gyn finally sent me the prescription for oestrogel + utrogestan but I don’t know if today is the best day to start, I got my period this morning. Does it matter?

I will take 100mg oral P daily, and O transdermic gel daily, dosage is unclear but I will start with one pump of Oestrogel

I know P should be taken before going to bed. What about O?

Hello, F43 in perimenopause. After doing a lot of research, I asked the gyn for estradiol gel. He said I couldn't have the gel without progesterone (I know that) but that he couldn't prescribe progesterone to someone who has 'regular' periods (understand monthly cycles from 21 to 35 days) because I still produce progesterone. As my estrogens are very low at the end of the cycle he prescribed birth control (Qlaira) but after 20 years on birth control I feel much better since I quit the contraceptive pill 3 years ago.
My question is, why can't I have progesterone? What are my options? Should I insist on getting progesterone + estradiol gel? He said I would bleed constantly if I take progesterone while my ovaries are still working. I would love to hear your opinion or experience on that.

I just emailed the gyn to insist on changing the prescription. I should have done that yesterday when I was at his office but was not sure yet.

Hello, please excuse my English I am not a native.
F43 childfree, I have entered perimenopause (very low oestrogens the last two weeks of my cycle) with all the symptoms you know and I start noticing the impact of low oestrogens on my hair and skin. I read a lot about HRT and asked my gynaecologist for it but he says if I start applying estradiol gel I have to take progesterone as well (obviously to protect my uterus) but then I will keep on bleeding and have sore breasts because my body still produces hormones. He advises to take birth control instead but I took it for 20 years already and don’t really want to start again (I don’t need birth control as my husband had a vasectomy).
My question is, is that true about it the constant / frequent bleeding when taking HRT while my ovaries are still working? Should I wait for menopause to start HRT? I keep on reading that it is good for women in peri in their 40’s so I am confused. Thanks for sharing your experience on this.

Bonjour, F42,5 sans antécédents particuliers. Je sens que je suis entrée en périménopause (sommeil différent, bouffées de chaleur, alopécie, règles moins régulières etc). J’aimerais demander un traitement hormonal de substitution mais mon gynéco a un délai de rdv trop long et je n’ai pas envie d’attendre un an de plus. À la dernière prise de sang réalisée 7 jours après l’ovulation, les taux sont les suivants: oestradiol 205, progestérone 10.8
Quelqu’un ici peut interpréter ces données en attendant que j’en parle à ma généraliste? Merci.

Hello, y’a t’il des meufs entre 40 et 45 ans ici qui ont reçu une thérapie hormonale de substitution (HRT) et si oui, peut-on la demander au médecin traitant ou faut-il impérativement passer par le gynéco? Contexte: F42 je sens que je suis en péri et j’ai envie que ça se passe le mieux possible niveau collagène, ostéoporose, santé cardiaque et toutes les joyeusetés liées aux changements en cours. Merci pour vos conseils.
