Help me with a lighthearted roast of Owosso

Hi Owosso,

I could use your help with this: I’m flying in from California to perform stand-up in Owosso on Thursday, Oct 22nd.

One of my  favorite parts of the show is a lighthearted roast of the area I’m in. I stay away from heavy stuff like local politics or crime. It’s more about poking fun at silly, mundane things you'd never find by googling. We’ve joked about killer turkeys, dueling Costcos, Evil Knievel rotaries. I like it because it's nice to do something unique for each town I visit.

I’d LOVE your input to make the Owosso roast rock solid.

What are your favorite “Owosso pet peeves," local quirks, or things you find absolutely ridiculous about the area? Fav dive? Something the area is lacking? Something dumb? I'm researching too, but I find they're better when ya’ll share insider info I’d never know.

Thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to putting on a great show for you all,

Hey

Hi Keene Area!

Thanks for the love on my last post promoting my stand up show in Brattleboro. Reminder that it's tonight so if you are planning to come now is your last reminder. I also have 2 quick updates.

#1 yes the show is still happening despite the rain.

#2, I know Keene is a bit of a drive and gas prices are insane—I literally Googled local pump prices just to calculate this—so use code MYGAS at checkout for $3.79 off to cover a gallon.

Tickets/Reviews/Clips All avail here:
itsalexclark.com/brattleboro

Also if you have no idea what I'm talking about / missed my last post.... here's a bit more info:

I flew in from California to perform stand-up in neighboring Brattleboro tonight.

If you've never heard of me, here's what to expect: no politics, no mean crowd work, just lighthearted observational comedy about raising kids, how dumb I am, and an unhealthy addiction to ice cream.

I do have a tiny list of credits— I've been featured on Netflix is a Joke and Don't Tell Comedy stages, I've performed everywhere from Australia to the Vegas strip. I'm a four-time festival people's choice winner and Streamy nominee, and my last stand-up tour sold out in 23 cities. Despite all my accomplishments, I've never owned property.

If you're interested in a guaranteed fun time and cheap date night I promise to give you a memorable night—the audience always gets the A+ treatment at an Alex Clark show.

Inviting you to a funny night out close to keene.

Hi Keene Area!

Hope it's okay to post this here—feel free to delete if not, I totally get it.

I’m flying in from California to perform stand-up in neighboring Brattleboro this Saturday. I know smaller towns don't always get a ton of touring acts, so I'm really looking forward to it and wanted to invite you. (I know Brattleboro isn't far, but if you need a ride, just flag me down on my way from LA).

If you've never heard of me, here's what to expect: no politics, no mean crowd work, just lighthearted observational comedy about raising kids, how dumb I am, and an unhealthy addiction to ice cream.

I do have a tiny list of credits—like 4 million YouTube subscribers, half a billion views for viral stuff like Guns Explained with Cats, a few festival people's choice awards, appearances on Disney and Netflix Is A Joke, a Streamy nomination, and a recent tour that sold out 23 cities—but I hate promoting myself, so I won't mention that again.

If you're interested in a guaranteed fun time and cheap date night I promise to give you a memorable night—the audience always gets the A+ treatment at an Alex Clark show.

Looking for comedy fans that want to help a dad with a dream

Greetings People of Brattleboro

I’m a dad with a problem.  I’d like to invite you to a great comedy show this Saturday Sept 26th.  The thing is…I’m certain you’ve never uttered the phrase “I hope it’s comedian Alex Clark”. Honestly, the one thing we have in common right now is we’re both wondering “is this show gonna suck?”

If it makes you feel better … I’ve been doing comedy a long time… and you attending would help with a lifelong dream.

Im an L.A. based comic that’s been touring for 25 years.  I’ve performed everywhere from Hong Kong to Australia. Been on Disney shows and Vegas.  All of which, led to my life long dream:  performing in the entertainment capital of the world Brattleboro VT this Saturday. :)

I’m genuinely excited about the cozy theater and think you’ll relate to my show:

The show is called “Jokes From The Brink”.  It’s about raising maniac toddlers, dealing with my dad’s passing, and about making fun of myself.  My proudest accomplishment, is how close I am to my dream body: the dad bod. The show is relatable to anyone that loves their kooky family even if they drive them crazy.

Show time: 8 PM
Venue: Hooker-Dunham Theater
Tickets: $22 in advance.  If money is tight,  I’m a dad of 2. I get it.  Shoot me a DM for a pay-what-you-can code. No questions asked.  I cant fix the economy but I can help you afford a fun night out.

Touring as a stand-up has been my dream since I was 14 and bought my first Robin Williams CD.  Thanks for helping me live the dream.  I promise to give you my best. You might even leave thinking “Wow, that didn’t suck”.

Returning To Brattleboro + would love ur suggestions

Hello All,

Thank you for your help with this.

I’m Alex Clark, a stand-up comedian on tour in Brattleboro on Sept 26th. I’ve been before… my wife and I actually honeymooned in the area back in 2019 and I instantly loved the Brattleboro vibe. We hiked trails, found little waterfalls, and skipped along downtown like newly-weds high on wedding cake ( Im sure I looked stupid, though my wife is an S-CLASS skipper)

Anyways…. Here’s what I’d like your help with:

One of my favorite parts of touring (besides being a foliage peeping-tom) is doing a lighthearted roast of whatever town I'm in. I stay away from heavy stuff like local politics or crime—I never punch down, not funny in my opinion - it’s more about poking fun at silly, mundane things you'd never find by googling. One town we joked about gangs of killer turkeys, another we joked about the dueling Costcos…. I love doing this because it makes the show just for you. It also gives me a chance to tell you about the show in a fun way + I feel less slimy doing a post like this than posting a straight ad. (But if you’re interested in a used honda civic…. Boy have I got a deal for you… and it includes am AM radio)

I’d love your input to make the roast rock solid.

What are your favorite “Brattleboro pet peeves," local quirks, or things you find absolutely ridiculous about the area? Or your favorite dive? Something the area is lacking? Something dumb? Something that made the news….Any and all observations are welcome. I'm doing my own homework too, but the roasts are always better when the community chimes in with insider info a visitor would never know.

Also, if you’d like to come to the show I promise the jokes will be as top-tier dumb or dumber as the ones in this post….. it’s ON Sept 26th at 8PM at Hooker-Dunham theater.

Clips & ticket info here: itsalexclark.com/brattleboro

Thank you so much for the help, and thanks for the great memories from our honeymoon. Looking forward to the show…and grabbing a creemee…(we missed them on our honeymoon and I just had a show in Burlington last week and struck out again, so I will regret it for the rest of my life if I don't get one in Brattleboro)

(I hope this is okay to post here—if not, I completely understand if the admins remove it)

Review Of Burlington

Hello All.

I was visiting Burlington a few weeks ago to vacation with my family and do a stand up show and we had a fantastic time. I wanted to give you a little review of the city from an outsiders perspective. Maybe other folks coming to town might see this and find some fun things to do while they are here.

First of all... what a beautiful city.... coming to town... there was a fair share of folks saying the town is run down and sad.... I get the feeling that every city has fond memories of what their city USE TO BE.... its the same way where I grew up.... but I have to say as a first time Burlington visitor we left impressed. The water front is gorgeous. The people are incredibly kind. The food was delicious. The city is small but charming. For someone thats never been there before there is a lot to love... I'll give into some of our favorites

We came as a family of four with two toddlers so we did a lot of kid focused activities... but our favorite thing was Shelburne Farms. It's a free to enter - actual working farm with a few small exhibits set up to educate kids on farming. There are a few hiking trails that go through the property and take you to the waterfront as well. We are city folks so they could have showed us one cow and we would have been impressed.... but what stood out to me most was how beauitful and calming the walk through the property was. They also have a little food cart set up at their main exhibit hall with food made with farm fresh ingredients. I had the Mac-n-cheese. It changed my life.

We also went to the science museum on the water and the teddy bear factory tour. Those were fun but they were exactly what they sound like.... so I dont have a lot to report on here. I do wish we had made it to the Shelburne museum.... it looks really cool and I love when eccentric people spend all their money on making cool museums.... but we ran out of time.... hopefully we can make it next time.

We also went to church street.... which is a historic pedestrian mall. It's charming and small town. I loved it. Down on church street we checked out a couple of incredible book stores and my son had a fun time climbing up on all the boulders scattered through the walking mall. I had seen a lot of folks online chatter about the homeless problem thats present there. Personally, having lived in bigger cities for over 20 years the homeless seemed pretty comparable to other cities I lived in. Hopefully Burlington gov can come together and help get them back on their feet because the city seems like a great place to live.

Overall the town kind of reminded of a mix between the old charm of Savannah and the lively arts community of New Orleans.

We also stayed at an incredible AIRBNB on front street... it was pretty close to the waterfront and a short walk to the science center. Our hosts were incredible and the place was well maintained and very home-y.....It was a one bedroom + bed in loft situation... if you need help finding it send me a DM.

We unfortunately never saw the world's tallest filing cabinet... and I'm ashamed to say this.... we never had an official creemee .... which if you arent from VT is apparently the best ice cream on earth. I dont know how we didnt have one.... we are an ice cream family.... I guess we'll just have to plan another family vacation back in VT so we can finally taste the creemee... can't wait!

thank you so much for your hospitality and I hope you all have a great fall!

Stand-up for a good cause: Raising money for Dad Guild!

A few days ago I reached out to the local community about some good organizations to raise money for in the Burlington area. Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions.

I'm proud to say we've officially partnered with Dad Guild. A local charity thats support dad's being good dads. I felt this was a great match because a lot of my material is about me being a dumb dad and also my dad just passed away this year. Seemed like a great way to honor him. Now that Dad Guild agreed to partner on this we are gung-ho on having a great time for an even greater cause.

This was one of the top suggestions from the folks here in the community so I'm excited to share that it worked out. Also, if you'd like to join us for an incredible night out that supports a great cause I'd love to have you there.

Greetings people of Rockford... I'd like to invite you to a great night out.

Hi Everyone,

Hope it's okay to post this here—feel free to delete if not!

I’m flying in from Los Angeles next Thursday to perform stand-up in neighboring Janesville. I know smaller towns don't always get a ton of touring acts, so I'm really looking forward to it and wanted to invite you. (I know Rockford isn't far, but if you need a ride, just flag me down on my way from LA).

If you've never heard of me, here's what to expect: no politics, no mean crowd work, just lighthearted observational comedy about raising kids, how dumb I am, and an unhealthy addiction to ice cream.

I'm not a big draw like Jim Gaffigan or Charlie Berens, so if even two people buy tickets from this post, it makes a massive, noticeable impact for me, the audience, and the folks who run the club.

Hi Janesville, Thank you for being so welcoming

Hi Everyone,

A huge thank you to everyone who jumped in with ideas on my previous post about roasting Janesville—you gave me some absolute gold. (I've been oven roasting turkeys all week in preparation for facing off with the Janesville Turkey Mafia) I feel well prepared to roast Janesville for part of my set now.

My stand-up show is coming up next Thursday at Comedy Cabin. It's a great date night and an easy cheap way to have fun. I keep it light, dont talk politics, dont pick on people in the crowd. I give people what they love, jokes. If you're wondering what to expect besides the roast, it's mostly lighthearted comedy about raising kids, how dumb I am, and my unhealthy addiction to ice cream.

Im not a big draw like Jim Gaffigan or Bill Burr so if even 2 people buy tickets from this post it makes a massive noticeable impact for me, the audience, and the folks that run the club.

I would genuinely love to see some familiar faces from the group there. I promise to give you a fantastic night out—the audience always gets the A+ treatment at an Alex Clark show.

Squarespace pricing “scandal”

Squarespace raised their prices by a ridiculous amount. Everyone complained. now squarespace sent out this email saying it was an internal error and they only meant to raise prices a “little bit” 🤣🤣🤣

LUNA ULTRA FEATURE REQUEST FOR DETACHABLE REMOTE

Please add a screen and joystick lock toggle when the remote is detached. As a live performer, I keep the remote in my pocket for quick, on-the-fly camera adjustments between bits. However, movement and fabric friction constantly trigger accidental inputs—randomly flipping the gimbal and changing settings mid-performance. A quick-lock shortcut is desperately needed so we can safely pocket the unit without messing up our shots.

Let's Roast Janesville

Hi Janesville, I could use your help!

I’m Alex Clark, a stand-up comedian visiting the Janesville Comedy Cabin from the coast. But I've been to Wisconsin plenty of times. If you’ve made the long trek to the Wisconsin State Fair, you might remember me from the hundreds of variety shows I performed there over the years (photo attached)!

I’ve since transitioned into stand-up, and one of my favorite parts of a show is a lighthearted roast of the town I’m performing in. I like it because it's nice to do something unique for the town Im coming to to make the show just for them. I have a show coming up at the Janesville Comedy Cabin on August 6th, and I’d love your input to make the roast rock solid.

What are your favorite "Janesville pet peeves," local quirks, or things you find absolutely ridiculous about the area? Or your favorite dive? Something the area is lacking? Something dumb? Any and all observations are welcome.

I could do the roast myself, but I find they are MUCH better when the community gets involved. You have insider information that a guy visiting just wouldn't know. Thank you so much for your help!

(I hope this is okay to post here—if not, I completely understand if the admins need to remove it)

Switch 1 + Switch 2 dock

Does anyone have experience with a dock that works with both switch one and switch two? They pop up on Amazon but I don’t know if any of them are reliable. Does anyone have experience with one that actually works well?

Best Food Spots Around Janesville?

Hi everyone! I’m heading to Janesville for the first time and wanted to ask about the food + introduce myself.

I'm Alex. I run a YouTube channel with about 4 million subscribers—if you haven't seen it, no biggie! I also have toured around doing stand-up for years and I'm excited to be adding Janesville for the first time.

Thanks for having me! Also, if anyone has food recommendations for while I'm in town, please don't hesitate to share. The main reason I tour is to eat local.

My set is about becoming a dad and losing my own dad (he passed away in front of my sister who was dressed as a giant carrot). As well as other stupid jokes.

If you'd like to see a few clips of mine to decide for yourself if you are into it I'll leave some stuff in the comments.
