[IIL] Steam games like the 2013 movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

There's a lot I like about this movie. It's a very wholesome and inspiring story of adventure, life, responsibility, family, etc. I was hoping for a game that captured some aspect of this.

Looking for a great VR game on Steam that will give me the full experience

I recently obtained a like-new Reverb G2 on Marketplace, originally for flight simming in IL-2. And I'm absolutely loving it, running it on Windows 11 with the Oasis driver. But since I have it, I'd like to get a VR game that will give me the full single-player amazing experience.

The obvious choice seems to be Half-Life: Alyx, but I understand it's kind of a horror game, and I don't do well with that. So what's the next best thing? Please no gory zombie shooters or anything extremely violent. Fantasy isn't my thing either, but I'm open to it. I'm also open to hearing arguments as to why HLA isn't that creepy. (It kinda gives me Fallout: New Vegas vibes, which is a game I enjoyed — how accurate is that?) I will probably get Steel Crew at some point, as that's just my kind of game, I think, but multiplayer.

I don't really have much room at all to move around (just a few feet), if that affects anything. My HP Envy 16 can't run the headset at full capacity, but it's got an RTX-3060 that works pretty well.

Thanks!

I know you guys don't think much of Logitech, but I was thinking about picking up one of these cheap(ish) secondhand to use as trim controls. Thoughts?

I play Il-2 and just joined the Flying Tin Cans, for reference. Alternatively they could be MEC controls, but I was thinking about VKB throttle modules for that.
