How Do You Pray or Speak to Deities?

I’ve been interested in Loki for three years, but I'm uncertain about how to pray to deities. My family is Christian, so I’ve heard prayers but never learned how to pray myself. Online scripted prayers feel awkward to me.

I mostly talk to Loki casually. When offering or lighting incense, I say things like, “Here you go, Loki,” or “I think you’d like some coffee.” For conversation, I light a candle and invite him to be present or talk to him while around the house, which feels natural.

Recently, I asked for his help and somewhat bribed him, saying, “If you could help me do this, I will get you some Reese's Pieces from the store tomorrow... I'll get them for you regardless, but I would still love your help with this." He helped, and his box of Reese's Pieces is sitting on his altar now.

My questions are: Are there formalities I should follow when addressing Loki? Is there a proper way to give offerings or ask for guidance, or is casual speak acceptable? Do people physically kneel or pray in a religious way to him?

I’m seeking advice on how others show respect or communicate with Loki (or any deity). I want to be genuine, but don’t want to overlook important customs.

How much should I realistically save for an MCR concert?

I'm attending DC show this August, and need to budget for transportation, food/water, and merch. Tickets are already covered.

I've heard the merch is pricey, with hoodies around $90, shirts $40 - $55, and smaller items at about $15–$25. For anyone who’ve been to a recent show, what did you actually pay?

How much did you spend on food/drinks at the venue? I plan to buy probably just water or a snack, but I’m curious about prices.

Would you say that saving $250 to $300 is realistic? Any recent tips would be appreciated.

Should I move back on campus for senior year or stay off‑campus?

I’m trying to decide if living on campus again for my senior year is worth it or not. Off‑campus has been comfortable. I cook my own meals, have privacy, keep my space clean, and have a bit more financial freedom and I’ve gotten used to the independence.

But I also feel more isolated. Getting to campus takes more effort, so I end up skipping clubs meets or social stuff because the commute feels like a whole task.

I’m trying to figure out whether the isolation is because of where I live or because I’m not pushing myself enough. I’m also anxious about moving again and giving up the comfort that I’ve built.

If you’ve lived off‑campus and then moved back on (or stayed off), how did it affect your social life and mental health? Was the tradeoff worth it?

TL;DR: Off‑campus gives me comfort, privacy, and more money. On‑campus might give me connection and easier socializing. I’m trying to decide if the social benefits outweigh the comfort I’d lose.

tips / advice for first time concert goer

Hi, I'm going to a show at Nationals Park in Washington DC this August with my grandpa. It's my very first time going to any kind of concert, and I want to make sure I enjoy it and don’t run into problems.

I’ve heard about the rules for bringing bags and what to bring, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has been there before about what it's like. Things like the merchandise areas, how hot it gets, what kind of clothes are best to wear, small things to bring like a hand fan, if I should worry about being bothered by others, whether I should bring earplugs, or any other tips for someone going for the first time.

Thanks a lot!

Sound in Silence

Anyone ever notice that when you’re in actual complete silence, you can still hear some sound…It’s like a very high frequency sound. I imagine this is what people hear when they’re trapped in a soundproof room in and out.

Night Sky

I took this photo of the night sky a few nights ago. I thought about sharing it to the photography subreddits, but they intimidate me. It’s a photo of the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter in a near alignment. I was able to capture it just using my phone!

Random: I think I would feel a bit more proud of it if I used my actual digital camera, but I’m still unsure on how to make night pictures as clear as my phone.
