What do you all think of people sharing highly private medical details of other people on this sub? As someone, whose parent was insanely controlling and hovering over me and all my medical reports, this triggers me so much.

If you want to learn how to support them, you can do that without sharing those details, just do your research.

If you have discussed it and they consented to you sharing, put that in the post! Or let the person write for themselves.

It tickles me in all the wrong ways seeing people discussing medications and lab values of other people publicly online.

Is this a me-issue? If not, could we make that a rule in the future?

I can see now, that it is safe from a privacy standpoint (even though I am still hoping that all parties are consenting, anonymous or not) and I can understand that some people are genuinely looking to help their loved ones. Hi everyone! I've been having really bad sleep issues for the last week or so. Extremely low quality sleep, waking up often, bad dreams and a lot of pain throughout the night, especially in the morning recently. Pain killers aren't doing much, so I was wondering if someone here dealt with that before and if you found a solution for that. (I am currently 3 months post-op, ileocecal resection and since then off any meds). I had sleep problems before, but mostly due to skin problems/itching which is luckily much better now. I tried melatonin gummies a while back, but I doubt those would help as the pain lasts through the night, even if I take new painkillers when I wake up in the middle of te night.

Next GI appointment is in two days. I know it sounds silly amd impatient but I REALLY need some sleep 😭

Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken, eine Ausbildung (Lehre oder Wifi Kurs) zum Fahrradmechaniker/mechatroniker zu machen. Wieviel Gehalt kann man sich hier erwarten und wie sind die Bedingungen in der Branche aktuell? Bin dankbar für alle Insights :)

Ich habe meine gesamte Jugend am Bike verbracht und 90% der Reparaturen selbst gemacht bzw. die Bikes der Familie in Schuss gehalten. Ich han auch einen Bachelor Abschluss in sowas wie Mechatronik und Mechatronik HTL Abschluss. Denke also, das würde gut für mich passen!

Bitte um Empfehlungen für Zöliakie-freundliche Restaurants, die auch in der Küche, falls glutenhaltige Speisen zubereitet werden, auf exzellente Hygiene achten. Gibt es evtl. Restaurants, die eine vollständig glutenfreie Palette anbieten?

So I've been away from work since March due to massive flare and had a similar 4 month long absence last year as well, but I'm finally getting my surgery now (ileosecal resection). The thing is, I feel like I'll be losing a part of my self, and people will just expect me to function normally again. I can't rally imagine going back to work after all this. I've been running from one doctor to the other these past months. It feels surreal that all this is coming to an end now.

How have you all been dealing with going back to day to day life after been taken out for so long? And yes, I am in therapy and we are talking about this and it helps tons, but I also want to hear how other people experienced this transition.

Hi all, so as the title says, I will have my surgery (ileocecal resection) in 2.5 weeks. Procedure wise, everything is clear, surgeon explained everything and is quite optimistic.

What I was wondering is, if any of you have some tips for me for preparation (diet, physical ativity, ...) and after care/ recovery.

Also if any of you had the same procedure done and is comfortable talking about it I would love to hear about your experience!
