**TL;DR**: using too low powered charger can result in the machine overheating. Switch to higher power charger for cooler, quieter machine.

Ever since I bought T14 gen 3 intel, I didn't bother taking the original charger (USBC 65W) out of the box, since I've already got so many around. I usually just consume media on it, so it can't be using to much power, right? Most often it got connected to the steam deck charger (45W) as it has nice 2.5m cable, but even then it got so very hot and thermal-throttling.

I finally went on a quest to fix this issue and discovered LatencyMon (this machine is still on windows), which pointed out issues with ACPI (so many interrupts). I slept on it and figured that it might be trying to consume too much power from the charger and can never achieve charging state which thrashes ACPI driver.

I connected a proper 65W charger with wattage display and it initially pulled 50W to drop down to some 30W, but for the first time I think the fan did not spin and the machine was not burning.

I still have to take it apart, clean the fan and maybe repaste, but it's already such great improvement.
