New addition - la diamantina

Love seeing all the old machines being restored. I have nowhere near the patience or the aptitude to undertake anything like that but am happy that many of you do. In the meantime I recently replaced my 15yo ECM machine with this gorgeous piece of art.

Thinking about a switch

Thinking about migrating from the standard brown to the Tokyo station edition. Brown has been in daily use for about 8-9 years. Thoughts?

It arrived. A4. Natural. It's beautiful.

It arrived today. A4 in Natural leather. First pic out of the box. Embossed. Conditioned. Filled.

Leather is very soft. Softer than I imagined - that's not a bad thing. Very beautiful. Can't wait to start using it in anger.

Trying to find a notebook that I think only exists in my imagination

I have this image of a notebook - good quality paper, plain or dot grid. It is at least 2cm thick - so probably over 200 pages. It is at least A4 in size. Lays flat when you open it. And has a soft cover. it's the home for my notes, sketches, ideas everything. Takes fountain pen and marker. This is the closest I can find but I think it may be a tad too small

It lands with a thud when I drop it on the desk. It will get beaten up as I use it.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

New machine and a question

Hi all - just replaced my ECM Technika with la Pavoni Diamantina. Beautiful machine. I have one problem which i think is more perception than actual. The portafilters that came with the Pavoni are just not great and I feel like the group head and portafilter spout is higher from the cup than I am used to. Does anyone know of a good quality portafilter that lowers the spout closer to the cup? I am struggling to find one. Or you may have some other advice. As I write this it sounds stupid LOL. Thanks!

More practice

Nice to be back on the brushes. Practicing bits of a scene that I want to hopefully feel like it's good enough to frame. Loose.Wet. Venice. If I could just get my verticals vertical 😅

In: the one on the right Out: the one on the left :)

Love them when they get a bit smashed up - special appearance from the Zunto siganture.
