Jamie Dimon Now vs. 10 Years Ago

Would love to hear how employee perception of Jamie Dimon has changed over time. Did people genuinely look up to him at some point?

Canceling orkin

How difficult is it to cancel your Orkin contract? There is a specific phone number to do so. Do they make you go through many hoops? What about allowing the contract to expire?

Visiting Archeological Zone without guide from Playa del Carme

Hi - I would like to visit the ruins from playa del Carmen on a self-guided tour with my friend. I don’t mind joining a group tour but I would like to skip the cenote add-ones etc. How easy is it to do this on your own? I found online that one can take a bus for most of the trip. Any tips and recommendations would be much appreciated. I am not averse to paying extra for comfort and ease but would rather avoid a door-to-door private tour.

Edit: I would like to get an accredited guide when we see the ruins.

Crush on younger maybe in-denial coworker

I (late 40s) have a younger coworker (27) whom i developed a crush on and managed to get to know a bit. I get the feeling he enjoyed the attention as I discreetly checked him out and make efforts to chat with him occasionally. Our work overlap was not substantial. Unfortunately he switched departments and now I no longer see him it all. Reaching out for coffee seems like too much. He's responded to a couple of teams messages in a nice / normal way, but never expanded the conversations and has yet to reach back out to me after about a month.

That being said in a way I am glad he is no longer on my floor. He has a girlfriend but I sense he could be questioning or unsure.

Is it worth asking for a catch up in a couple of months? I value my job more than making a pass at him but I would like to know him a bit better as he had that mysterious air.

Tldr: would you seek a casual friendship with a straight younger coworker who was very handsome but unlikely to be interested in you that way or is it not worth the mental anguish?

Heel raise types and variations

There was a heated debate posted recently on calf strengthening and heal raises, which got me thinking about the heel raises I do do which strengthen the calves in the process.

I have been using the device noted below on the floor for single heel raises without shoes. I try to go slowly. I have been increasing my reps. Should I be doing heel raises without the device on a step until the heel drops down as far as it can go? If so, should I be wearing shoes for those?

*** this is what I use for single heel raises:
StrongTek Plantar Fasciitis Relief Foot Stretcher Pad, High-Density EVA Calf Stretching Block for Heel Pain, Achilles Tendon & Foot Arch Therapy, Portable & Lightweight

I go to physical therapy twice a week and the gym once a week for broader strength training and treatment of my legs, ankles, etc.

Small talk as a patient

I am a PT patient for about one year with a 2 month or so break. My first therapist was chatty, and I really liked her. She initiated somewhat personal questions when I first met her. That set the tone for the next 4 months.

My current therapist basically knows very little about me and vice versa. I am punctual, try to be upbeat, smile, greet him, etc. But our small talk is fairly minimal. I have found this interaction to be far better than my first time, even though my first PT was lovely.

As an introvert, this is much better. Just saying this for those therapist who may lean introvert and may worry about not being open/talkative enough.

Hope i didn't break the rules posting here.

Regular vs Wide shoes (Saucony Guide 18)

I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for a year and about six months ago I thought perhaps my PF was not being helped by my wide shoes. At some point prior to getting PF, I switched to wide shoes because they were more comfortable. Now I have three unused wide shoes. If you had to guess, are slightly wide feeling shoes worse than slightly tight shoes?

Using Uber for NYC Commute

After one year with only some improvement and having just experienced a flair-up, I am finally coming to the conclusion that I may need to take a car service to work.

Perhaps only for the way into the office or just to go back home. This would obviously come at a financial cost. I am in a fortunate position to be able to pay for this if I have to, although it is not inconsequential. With hybrid, this would be three days a week.

Typically, I feel mild pain when taking the subway in the morning, but moderate to high pain going back home. At work, I sit most of the time. The goal would be to unload the foot.

Have others in similar circumstances done the same?

I am doing PT twice a week and Rathleff at home.

I am beginning my fifth month, have been going twice a week. I am starting to think I should cut back to once a week and before my insurance limits coverage. Also, because I feel like I should be able to do a decent job on my own.

I am curious to hear how long people have gone to PT before either giving up or going the self-treatment route.

I have been doing the Rathleff protocol for a few weeks without strictly following the ramp-up schedule.

Today, I felt a dull ache in my arches and pain in my heels. My symptoms tend to fluctuate, and I get random pain in different parts of my foot, so cause and effect are hard to discern, generally speaking.

That being said, I assume the pain I am feeling today is because i overdid it yesterday with too many single heel raises.

For those of you who have done the Rathleff protocol, how did you know when you overdid it?
