I took the recommendation of purchasing a new TLR camera instead of trying to fix my Argoflex E — thank you to everyone for suggesting this. Ended up spending about $125 for this camera and it’s in incredibly good condition. Seller was incredibly nice, too. I think I got this for a good price. Now starts my journey on how to use a TLR camera!

Hello everyone! I’m looking to get my Argoflex E repaired in hopes of using my first TLR. This one has been sitting in a dusty trunk for quite some time, I believe in its own leather case.

The main issue as far as I’m aware is that the shutter is stuck and barely budges when I fire it. I’ve tried firing it numerous times to let the blades loosen up, but no luck.

I’m not an expert in repairs by any means, so I’d like to bring it to a shop to get it repaired and to make sure that everything else is functioning the way that it should be.

Preferably NYC area, but willing to go to Brooklyn and queens for a shop. Would also love to get an estimate of how much I should be looking at for this kind of fix.

Sweater is completely handmade and found at a local church thrift fair 🥺
