Not KP but tiny red dots and

I have KP (chicken skin) but what’s this? Is this something I need to even look into?

Hi, I’m female mid 30’s normal BMI. So I’ve have had KP my entire life, it started when I was in 5th grade when it began showing. I have it on my back, chest, arms, buttocks —basically 80-90% of my body.

Under my forearm/arm, is smoother and back of legs and back of thighs looked a bit clear while the front — although smoother that the one I have on my arms , looked like a skin that was just newly shaved. 🪒

Now, the tiny red dots, they’re here again — I noticed there’s small red dots before on the same location, which is back of my knees, they were fewer and I think went away. But today I noticed there’s a bit more of them, I just saw them while taking a bath. It’s more concentrated only at the back of my knees and the rest of my legs have them but scattered and only noticeable when you look closely and give it a bit of massage cos for some reason my KP calms down and clears it self for a second or 2. (sorry that’s the best way I can explain it.)

And upon checking other parts of my body , few on my stomach scattered (only noticeable when you stretch it and few on my arms but one that you can count with your fingers and again, they’re scattered…

I was wondering what this could be? Any idea? Is there any test I can ask my GP to check or I can do? Is this even worth looking into?

Just incase it’s relevant or connected here’s a link

Food storage? Is there a wrong way?

I store my dog food (kibbles) in a container with only a resting lid which is kept inside a close dark cabinet/pantry …whenever I buy a new bag— I just pour them in the plastic container and get whenever it’s feeding time… is there a wrong or correct way of storing them? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edit: thank you for first comments! :) but a follow up question is if I’m doing it wrong way— why? …Are there any common/negative effects for dogs or home environment? TIA

Allergies…

Hi my dog is currently on a process of elimination to determine if it’s a food allergy. My vet said stay away from chicken for now. What dry kibbles are less likely to cause allergy ? What are your thoughts on 1. Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach (Salmon & Rice) ? Or any recommendations?

Cystic Acne at this age 😭

Hi guys mid 30s here and I have noticed that I’ve been getting cystic acne on my chin. It started with one then 2 then 3… I’m frustrated worried it might get out of control. It’s taking weeeeeekssss and it’s not flattening.

I started using the the Trouble Care Acne patch (acropass ) as I’ve read micro dot patches may work… it says: When pressed onto a deep cyst, these microscopic tips painlessly bypass the outermost skin layer to deliver anti-inflammatory and bacteria-fighting ingredients directly into the root of the breakout…

I’m not sure if it helped…but one acne did surfaced a tiny tiny head, like a dot tiny for few days..I thought it would heal and flatten itself since I did see that tiny white dot but it stayed same, red and swollen…

However the other one isn’t swollen anymore but when I stretch my chin I can see white/flesh colored bumps around it, stretching my chin shows a rough white bumps….

I’m worried they’re acne waiting to come out and become full blown cystic acne…

Using benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, I noticed, causes my pimples to stay red and raised longer so I’m not using it on my chin acne.. what are your thoughts on micro dot patches, I think they might work but itsss so expensive for just 6 pcs patches… any OTC suggestions or advise…

dermatologist is a last option…

Fibromyalgia?- what are your thoughts? Is it really Psychological?

Hi, earlier this year I’ve had health scares, concerns that made me go to the doctor cos it’s really bothering me… I thought I was having heart attack at some point (contemplated calling 911 few times but I’m thinking “what if it’s nothing and I just wasted everybody else’s time? —I hate going to ERs cos everybody tends to be rude in there which I get but still…)

Anyways, for months I’ve been experiencing aches, pins and needles sensation, sensitivity, palpitations, fatigue, shortness of breath, shoulder, neck and back pain, headache/migraine, sometimes chest heaviness, dullness — almost all at same time…

3 years ago I’ve complained about sensitivity half of my left face where it’s annoying to sleep that side cos even a tiny brush of hair causes extreme sensitivity. It usually last for a week but earlier this year it lasted for a month or so…

In addition to all those symptoms, i noticed that i get bluish tint on my toes or fingers or lips when it’s cold (i usually don’t get easily cold, im the type of person who use the fan on winter)
I also get dry eyes especially early in the morning. When I palpitate, i try to slow it down by raising my feet and it goes down but then it goes back up again when i move. During this time my HR averages to 95-100 at rest and just standing up with few steps reaches 130…

- My dentist before mentioned TMJ (when I complained tooth & Lt face sensitivity)
- Endo who looked at my teeth checking if its connected to left face sensitivity or probably need root canal but he says I don’t need it
- my test for troponin is normal and ekg
- blood test normal.
- go had me tested for auto immune and says negative
- had me ultrasound for wrist and fingers ( due to me complaining about my “pinky and ring finger” ache and weird sensation. < it says carpal tunnel but not sure it explains my pinky and ring finger sensation though, -they also found calcification on my ring finger suggesting injury (when I felt like there’s a bump) but I would’ve known if I hurt or injured my finger noh? Not sure if it also explains its warm and bruised sensation when touched.
- went to lung specialist and had xray but all normal, although he did give me symbicort inhaler Rx and says for me to ff up after 3 mos. (I don’t use it lately as I don’t feel short of breath and it causes me to palpitate though.
- neurologist says EMG is normal
- and finally got referred to internal medicine doctor, I just mentioned what has been happening - no physical check up or whatsoever, I literally just talked he didn’t ask me any questions, he said at the end, its probably fibromyalgia and that I come back in 2 weeks or a month… but I didn’t end up going back cos I feel like nothing really happened,

I also didn’t follow up with my GP cos I’m concerned that I might only get frustrated when they tell me “its all in your head”

Then suddenly, it went away and I feel ok again, but now I feel like it’s starting again… what could this possibly be or if its indeed maybe fibromyalgia, then does that mean I’m F@ckd? Cos my doctor would probably tell me to do CBT or it’s all in my head .. and nothing can basically be done ? 🙄
My GP these days rarely sees us when we set appt, she’ll just have her “doctor assistant” to interview us and then come in to just give rx or requisition then out.

So basically we set appt> wait for almost 2 hrs > get interviewed by assistant doctor”as she writes it all down> we wait again for my GP> he comes in and out staying only under 3 min. And OFTEN not even 3 min…. So since it’s been like this for quite sometime now, I always feel pressured to not ask more questions cos I just feel like im always being rushed… anywhhhhoooo

I’m in my 30s, normal BMI….

Natural remedies…

Just asking what are the recommended natural remedies vets swear by or preventive measures, or otc products like shampoo, ear cleaner, wipes that can be trusted since there’s a lot of it now… are there even any ? For example, one vet told me to I can wash my dogs scrapped bum (when she was dragging it due to Post op) w/ diluted dawn dish soap… and one time I was told to wash with cerave benzoyl wash for a skin issue my other dog had? Or taking reactin… Ik everything here has to be taken with grain of salt… but just wondering, I love my dogs sm that I tend to over react and rush them to my vet every chance I get… lately I noticed it’s as if what’s being done is a trial and error thing… I mean I get that treatment is usually like that but at same time I get worried that I’m just giving my dogs meds one after another and cause them more harm …if there are things one can try before going chemical then would gladly try it… (only for simple common occurrence /issues)

also at what point should one decide to leave their vet? OR Any suggestions how to communicate with vet without making it look like or them feel like I’m undermining them. 😭 cos I respectfully don’t want them to feel that.

Edit: when I say trial and error thing, I’m concerned that I give them meds (with steroids) and didn’t work then given meds again again for observation to see if it “works” — Im only concerned if this “let’s see if this works” and if not “here’s another meds” …. Cos that’s what I feel… don’t get me wrong I still OBEY AND DO what my vet SAYS but I’m asking HERE just incase…

Allergy, yeast, bacteria, fungi etc

So i have a dog who I brought to the vet on June after weeks of noticing her jerking reflex whenever I massage or gently poke in between her right hind paw. I often massage her paws, pads and in between every now and then, a habit I picked up after her IVDD surgery,— she’s 1 year post op. Anyway I thought it has something to do with her nerves But vet said she have yeast hence gave me Viaderm cream that I applied 1-2x/day for 2 wks and it stopped her jerking like reflex.

Fast forward now, I noticed she have it again and this time her front paws are included, it’s a bit pinkish and mildly irritated, she’s also licking it a bit. Then I noticed 2 of my other dogs are licking more than usual as well as itching, I checked their paws and it’s More irritated, reddish, and bit swollen- then I decided to wash it and clean it, and shave their fur to get a better look, I saw a deep seated light brown like dirt in between the fold of the base of the nails and I removed that ever so gently. Suspecting it’s also yeast I bought vet chlorhexidine wipes to partner with the viaderm cream and observe before set an appt for all 3. I also in the mean time cutting back on their fruits and vegetables that are starchy and stick with their usual and bought grizzly bear plus omega 3-6-9 supplement to add, and cutting back on chemical floor cleaners I use… I also washed carpets, our bedsheets , their beds etc…

so for 4 days now, every morning I wipe their feet with medicated wipes (I used to wash them with water but I was told the wipes should suffice) then I try to dry them and I also try to apply the ointment as thin as possible with silicone spatula, making sure I cover what looks irritated, and make sure that they now have the donut/cone on them to prevent them from licking.

Again it’s been 4 days… I’m not sure if they are getting better, in my head I think so, and it’s only need 4 days, … my female dog has little getting better irritation, but my 2 male dogs, looks irritated to me, as well as sensitive especially the white one… it’s sensitive cos when I apply ointment I feel like it stings them… could this be yeast? How long should I wait before vet, and am I applying the ointment routine correctly, should I wash them with soap and water (cos wipes alone feels sticky,— I feel like wipes and 2x a day ointment just piles up making them more sticky even though I blow dry them)

Ps. Looking back, I did see them licking or biting their nails and my black dog did show a a swollen toe or 2 but I thought nothing of it as it went away.. i think this may have been same case for my other white dog too, where he was biting his hind nails… I’m trying to remember when have I started noticing but think nothing of it— it’s probably a couple or so months? … I don’t know… 😭

My dogs don’t go out, and
We moved to new place but it’s been a year now. They eat fruits but cutting back on it for now. Apple pear banana melon… they like Brocoli bokchoy lettuce beans and cucumber, maybe I’ll stick to that? — lately I’m guilty of giving them table scraps like bread..Crust etc… 😭 anyone advise for now please? — they’re mix of terri-poodle/shitzu 5-6 kg and 4 and 5 years old . Should I wait for a week? (photos)

DIY Hair chaos

So I originally want money piece then I decided I want the ends light, then add possible highlights… just like others, I’ve gone the rabbit hole….. as you can see my ends are lighter, transitioning upwards to yellow orange… I was given /recommended t14 but I think that’s only good for light ones and I’ve tried it on chunk of my hair that I cut, —seems ok , but I’m not sure once I tone the whole head, I’m scared of it being muddy green or dull…… I have dark hair, and I’m fine with just mushroom brown, ash brown or light brown, or cool beige… as long as it lighter than my black hair…I don’t know anymore, I’m not sure if I can achieve that faded look down the ends… I was also given, when I went to Sally’s a demi color brilliance ion 7UA, it’s lighter than my black for sure, but I’m scared that once I apply it —it would uniformly turn everything dark almost same color of my black hair and that would frustrate me even more… at one point I’ve gone delulu thinking I might be able to use demi on the roots and orange area then use the t14 on the lighter ends…. My brain cells is not working anymore I need help from fellow diy-ers and going to the salon is not an option so please be gentle… I’ve bleached my hair 2x already with a week in between… so far my hair isn’t stringy just bit dry on the ends and I have a thick hair… at this point I’m delusional but can’t function as I’m not sure what to do next, …. Any advice? I want a faded look with chunnks of light strands on some parts too …. help this old lady will ya.. I’ve attached some hair “INSPO”, I’m thinking of bleaching some strands of May hair again too just incase? But yeah I’m not going for platinum blonde, it can be darker just as long as there’s “atleast” noticeable contrast with my black hair….

I just want a new look before I get even stiffer, I probably have arthritis lol, but aaaaahhh I can’t go to the salooon 😫 help this old lady will ya..
