Are machines just as good as free weight or cables?

Personally I (23f) only ever use the machines at the gym but from my observation the hardcore folks are typically at the free weight section or using the cables (for chest flys and stuff). Is there a reason they don’t use the machines? Are machines less effective and building muscle? Like is bench pressing or doing a chest fly on the machine less effective than using a barbell or doing a cable fly?

A spot for tacos and mixed drinks?

Friends and I (23f) are trying to find a place for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl really wants like street tacos. The whole group wants mixed drinks and a bar. We’d ideally like to have both in one location, does anyone have suggestions?

Does diluting sugary drinks matter for diabetics?

Okay so let’s say I have a diabetic uncle or something. He is about to have a glass of sweet tea. The drink has 50g of sugar in 250 ml of tea. We’re all concerned but he says “don’t worry I’ll dilute it down with water”. So he adds another 250 ml of water. Now the drink is less sweet, but if he drinks the whole thing doesn’t that just mean the same amount of sugar is entering his body? The amount of sugar diluted in a drink isn’t as important as the actual amount?

Existential crisis - are humans even meant to have long distance romantic relationships?

My (23f) boyfriend (23m) and I have been long distance since we graduated this spring. He’s gone off to grad school in a new city and I’m starting a new job here. The more we’ve been doing this ldr the more I wonder if we’re even meant to be in long distance relationship. Not we, me and him, but “we” as in the general human population. I feel like we’re wired to need intimacy and physical connection. Proximity etc.

I was read a statistic that the biggest indicator of whether two people start dating is distance… or something like that.

Idk maybe I’m feeling jaded but any advice or insight is welcome!

Best class for open world solo

I know that technically every class can run open world solo content but what are some of the best classes/spec that have a good balance of damage and survivability that can accomplish and and all open world content for someone who wants to avoid grouping up unless absolutely necessary?

PS not antisocial just that my playtime is kind of all over the place these days
