Rewatching from s1 and the show is unrecognisable now

Rewatching from s1 and the show is unrecognisable now

I know people have been saying all shows progress but one thing that was always prevalent in the show was Rues addiction and her struggles with it, watching s1 episode 1 right now and the storytelling is amazing regarding Rue and her addiction, this season it feels almost non existent and she can now just casually use drugs?? As if it's not a big deal??? And just get sober whenever she feels like it??? Just a little rant, I can't be the only one who feels this way, Rues story was always the heart of the show for me personally (that and Labyrinths music) and the fact they're downplaying her addiction is really annoying, it is not that easy and I thought Sam Levinson would know this as I heard he was previously addicted to drugs himself

The Driving Home 2 U version of Jealousy, Jealousy is the best version imo

I listen to this version over the album version, I love it so much

Deleted scene with Jack and Lovejoy fight

Fight starts at 3:27. I can see why they deleted this one as it kind of drags on, but I enjoyed this anyways. It also explains Lovejoys cut when the ship is splitting in half. Thoughts?

Other deleted scenes I've added are here and here,

Edit: I've just found out his characters full name was Spicer Lovejoy, ok😭, oh also, I kept the boy crying at the end to show what scene would've followed had it been kept in, also kept the beginning in to show the cut they did

Extended boiler room scene with kiss, just before the car scene

Just before the car scene we had this but they cut the kiss & neck kissing out and I love it! I shared a scene earlier (the one with Rose going down to steerage to see Jack, here) I wished they hadn't cut and now I'm sharing this as I love it, I don't think this deserved to be cut either. I wanted to share with those who may have not seen it.

I wish they had kept this scene in the movie

I love this scene, I managed to find an edition with some of the deleted scenes in it (including this, runs for 3hrs 45 mins lol) and I think this scene adds a lot, I really wish they had kept it in!

Edit: thank you for the award anon 😊

Got this second hand for £2, can’t wait to read - book by Colonel Archibald Gracie, Titanic Survivor

started reading and he jumps right into it, also for second hand it looks brand new. I’m planning to get the “Sea of Glass” Titanic book when I can, but this was a great find

The rule of human nature

an interesting thing said by survivor 2nd Officer Charles Lightroller in The Titanic Disaster Hearings audiobook, warning for anyone who wants to listen to the audiobook or read it: the guy questioning everyone asks questions as if he’s interrogating everyone about why men were on the boats, practically shaming them for being alive which makes me angry but this is definitely worth the listen so far! (if I love it I’ll buy a hard copy but I’ve been listening to this as I do some tidying and this line was so poignant to me), shoutout to the people voicing the survivors and the guy interviewing them in the audiobook btw because they’re nailing it

Has anyone else seen “Waking The Titanic” on Disney+?

it’s about 14 Irish immigrants who were on board Titanic, almost finished it and wondering if anyone else has watched? it was interesting. One of the women was on a lifeboat and actually got out to go back for her hat!

edit to add: I am in the UK and it appears it isn’t on Disney+ in the USA or Australia, apologies! I did find a link though, I hope this works for everyone who can’t see it on Disney+
