Help!

My (very old) jade plant has started to lean, and on inspection, it looks like root rot, right in the main stem. What can I do to save it?

A previous branch off this trunk rotted and I thought id managed to cut it away before it got to the main trunk, but looks like I lost :(

Repotting without cutting seems pointless as its in the main trunk now, will it survive a chop there?

TIA 💖

Confusion over F- Mount lens

Hi all,

I have a Nikon Z50 and an FTZ adapter (not the II)

I have just bought a Sigma 100-300mm DL f/4.5-6.7 with Nikon F mount

I dont know why, but I cannot mount it on my adapter for the life of me. It seems to need a lot of force that I'm not willing to exert on to it, and wont lock into the adapter. My 55-200mm nikkor lens mounts smoothly, and my AF-S 35mm prime is a little stiff, but does mount and lock.

Am I missing something here? Have attached photos of the lens mount.

NB: I am aware this is an older lens and I wont have AF ability, only MF. I knew this, but cannot figure out why it wont mount!

Gear for upcoming eclipse

Hi all,

I am hoping for some advice. I am going to hopefully photograph the upcoming partial eclipse in the UK. However, I only currently own a 55-200mm nikon lens (f/4-5.6). This lens' AF Motor has broken, so I'm only able to use it manually.

For the body itself, Im using a Nikon Z50, with an FTZ adapter for the lens. Im considering if buying a 70-300mm lens is worth it, or am I better off just buying an older F mount teleconverter and using that with the 55-200mm as im not worried about AF capability?

Im not convinced its worth picking up another lens for an extra 100mm focal length?

On the other hand, I am unsure how the teleconverter will affect photo quality given its likely to be an older one.

Advice appreciated!

Repairable?

Hi! Unfortunately my nan passed away recently and I've have of her favourite rings. I'm sure you'll be able to see it was worn alot, but just realised theres a stone (or three?) Missing! Would this be repairable?

As I understand it, the hallmarks say its makers mark is A.B s (?), assay in Chester, 9ct Gold, with a cursive D hallmark on the end, but unsure what that means. Feel free to correct me, hopefully the pictures are good enough to see.

Thank you, hoping i can get it fixed up ☺️
