Paxton’s latest mail spam implies support from the Tribune

Poxton’s latest piece of misdirection appeared in our mailbox this weekend. It cites a July 31 article in the Texas Tribune, giving the impression that the Trib actually supports or endorses this piece of shit, when in fact, the cited article was merely reporting the contents of his own press release.

Should I pull the trigger?

One of my local pawn shops has a nice, used P30L for $530 (“Manager’s Special”). 9mm, LEM, but with just a single 15-round mag and no other accessories. It appears to have the small or medium grip panels installed, where I need large, so that would be an extra cost.

I’ve been toying with the idea of adding another HK, to pair with my VP9L.

What say you, random internet strangers? Damn the torpedoes, or just walk away?

How to handle sporadic availability?

I occasionally refurbish and sell laptops on eBay. I pride myself on my shipping times and packaging, and have received nothing but glowing feedback.

However, I’ve recently started a part-time gig that has me away from home for up to six days at a time, often every second week.

How should I handle this situation? I can easily manage two-day shipping when I’m in town, but obviously not when I’m away. Should I increase my promised shipping times (at the risk of making them less attractive to buyers), or can I somehow suspend my items while I’m unavailable, or…?

Magazines too long?

I'm thinking of dipping my toe into USPSA this year. I'd like to run my VP9L in Carry Optics, but I only have two 20-round mags, which exceed the maximum length for CO. I know I'm going to have to buy some shorter mags to be fully compliant, but do y'all think the organizers might let me compete if I just load them with 18 in the meantime? I'm just going to be out there for fun.

I guess I should reach out to them before I put in an entry, or are USPSA matches -- even local Level 1's -- strictly enforced on things like this?

While cleaning house, we discovered an old (50-pin old) iPad that's tied to an Apple ID that my wife last used several years ago. I've tried the direct password reset process from the device, the online reset process at iforgot.apple.com, and also the "Help someone else" reset process from my iPhone, but all attempts fail with "This Apple Account is not valid or not supported."

I expect Apple has probably purged the account since it hasn't been used in years, but even if not, we have changed internet providers and lost access to the old email address years ago too.

Is there any way to reset that ID, or any way to reset this thing without access to that ID (Find My is turned on)? All I really want to do is erase this museum piece before I donate it somewhere.
