Idaho: Potatoes Ain't The Only Thing They Grow

Some great time spent in Idaho. Riding with friends in the south and working Silver Kings followed by kayaking lake Couer D Alene. I cant wait to come back in August. Fun fact: Idaho has the most public land out of any state, about 62%.

Northern Cascades National Park

I can officially cross drinking wine 🍷 on a glacier off the bucket list.

The North Cascades 🏔 is one of my favorite National Parks. Towering granite walls, turquoise waters of Diablo Lake, and glaciers clinging to the peaks make this place feel wild in a way that's becoming harder to find.

12 miles and 4,500 feet of elevation gain carried me from dense forest to rock, snow, and finally ice. It's hard to believe the east and west sides of the range belong to the same mountain system. The western slopes receive nearly 10 times the rainfall of the eastern side, creating two completely different worlds separated by a ridgeline.

With stepping onto the glacier, memories from my first summit last summer came rushing back. The familiar smells, rocky scrambles, and impossibly blue glacial water reminded me why I keep returning to the Pacific Northwest.

Sitting on the ice with a glass of wine after a long climb felt like the perfect way to end the day and another reminder of why this corner of the country is so special.

Northern Cascades

The PNW is probably my favorite area of the US I've explored. Towering mountains, endless trails, and the widest variety of biomes I have ever seen. Whether you like mountaineering, dirtbiking, or spear fishing, this area has something to offer you.

The Odyssey continues!

Dudes acting like broke his back or something...

Sole techy hill around northern Idaho! I feel like Idaho is full of steep loose climbs or extreme exposure. Dont forget to throw in blind corners with all the tall vegetation!

Who wants to ride in the PNW?

Chasing Single Track Sunsets

Had to take the FE501 out for one last ride in the Wasatch Mountains before I move on to another state. It's been a great one Utah from the high altitude lakes, endless single track, and breathe taking views. Now I travel into Idaho and eventually the PNW on a mission!

Rock or tree crashes hurt more?

Still flying high in the northern Utah mountains. Going from the Nevada desert to these forests had me relearning how to ride woth all of these trees. One definitely looked at me funny and I had to body check it.

Bombing Utah's Subalpine Single Track

While here visiting northern Utah I explored deep into the Uinta National Forest. Not hard enduro but nice single track welcomed by a couple techy sections. What better way to crush 40 miles on a Sunday?

Logandale Crash

A sneak peek at one of the clips from my reel showcasing the amazing riding Logandale offers. Decided to go for a challenging line instead of a smoother one to the right. Sadly the camera was collateral. Dont worry, after taking a few minutes to fix it I successfully hit the feature.

Next stop: Northern Utah!

New Shot Angles

While at Logondale I decided the try out some new shot angles. I have tried this one before but solely on street bikes or a supermoto. This being offroad and in such a rocky environment definitely gave it a pucker factor.

How do you think it turned out?

Best Riding Near Las Vegas

Probably the best riding ive found around Las Vegas is the Logandale trail system in the Valley of Fire. This place looks other worldly and is full of technical trails for all types of machines.

It was a great weekend shooting a video for P3 Carbon. Although I wound up being stranded due to a cracked fuel line in the gas tank, I managed to get back to the rig safely and even fixed the bike before dinner time. So glad I was able to ride the next day.

Always bring plenty of water and have a way to communicate with others in case of an emergency!

Cliffside Community

With a freak accident happening on one of the hardest trails in Arizona; it really showed how much the offroading community cares and can rally in a time of need. It was a miracle already that the bronco didnt roll down into the wash but what was even more astounding was the team work of 4 other rigs and winches working in unison to pull it back onto the trail with no damage. Everyone was a stranger before hitting the trail but by the end everyone was a friend.

From challenging trails peaking mountain tops to navigating scorching washes, Bull Run earned the name of the one of the most challenging trails in Arizona. After battling the wash this trail sends you straight up into the alpine forests. What really made this trail interesting was all the unique rock features unlike anywhere else in the country.

PS: Bring extra socks

Check out me riding this fun section on one of the hardest trails in Arizona, Cottonwood (ST8). Was great weather other than the 35 mph gusts on the backside of the mountain on exposed single track. If you love endless arm pump over softball and baby-heads, this trail is for you.
