Best acoustic suspension center speaker under $1000

Luckily I’m going to be able to join your ranks soon when I move into a new house with a dedicated theater room that the wife has approved.

In the meantime, I’ve been doing a ton of research on speakers but can’t really find a center speaker that would fit into the category of under $1000 while not having any rear port. I’m mainly looking for this because it will be a tight fight to cram 2 rows and an acoustically transparent screen in the new room, both which I want to do.

Are there any speakers that fit this bill? I’ve found the KEF R2 Meta (too high of price) and the Klipsch RP-404C II (seems too underpowered). New here obviously, so happy to learn!

Saw a home with a different random realtor, now we are interested in purchasing said home. Did we f up?

UPDATE: Spoke with our original agent who we want to stick with. We originally had a temporary agreement that ends in 2 days. We fully disclosed everything that happened and she let us know we were in the clear since we signed nothing and the other agent never introduced the property to us. We are signing a full agreement with her to continue working together.

As for the other agent, the plan discussed was to not respond to her email, sign nothing, and move on. If she reaches out again, we drafted a response to let her know we are working with another agent currently.

Original post follows-

tldr; Saw a house we actually liked with a different agent than our regular one by tagging along on someone else’s tour. Did we mess up if we ultimately put an offer in on the house?

We have been looking at homes for a few weeks now with little luck. Pretty much every single one has a major issue that takes it entirely out of consideration. During this time period, we have worked with one specific realtor who has done a great job and we want to stick with. On our own we have also been going to a few open houses here and there.

Here is what created the problem. We went to what we thought was an open house. Turns out the website we saw it on pulled the wrong info, and it was a week later. Through pure happenstance, a different real estate agent with clients came at the same time for a scheduled showing.

At this point, either the clients or agent (can’t really remember which) offered if we would still like to see the house, they wouldn’t mind us tagging along. Reason being, they weren’t super serious about the property, but wanted to see a specific feature. The agent and clients were also friends.

We agreed since it was hot and we had driven 45 minutes to get here.

Now it turns out that we really liked this house! We didn’t badger the agent with any questions and she didn’t really offer up much info. It felt kind of like a chaperoned open house where we got to have a feel for the place. We planned on going back with our agent that we had been working with prior to get all of the details we were missing.

Now before leaving, the other agent asked for our email to send some form to keep her “out of trouble”. We gave her our email and went our separate ways.

Later that day we got an email that basically spent several paragraphs offering her services and asked us for our names for the form she had mentioned earlier. No form was attached to the email though.

Now we are worried that if we were to continue and actually purchase this home, that our original real estate agent would get screwed out of money because we didn’t fully understand that it might create a complicated situation.

Is there anything to actually worry about here? Should we give our info to the other agent? We want to bring up the interaction with our own agent, but even that we are hesitant to do if it’s just better to leave it be.

Found a steal at the thrift store for my new son. Anybody able to help identify the signatures?

It will be a few years before he can wear it (boys small and he’s only in 12 month clothes), but would love to be able to share with him who signed it.

Anything wrong with being on old firmware?

Question is basically the title. I know there are some major firmwares that adjusted the startup/jingle, took away OtherOS, and makes it harder to jailbreak. But are there any major weaknesses to running old firmware? Will later titles not run, or just try and update the system?

I lucked into an old CECHA that was still on stock firmware 2.76 and I’m super nostalgic for the old startup sound and jingle as you launch a game. I know you can adjust these things with CFW, but if I add it, will those elements remain?

To the lowlifes buying out every newspaper in Raleigh…

I hope both sides of your pillow are piping hot for the rest of your life you leech.

Everywhere I have been employees tell me that a single person has bought every copy.

EDIT: I was unsuccessful after over 20 stops. The last Barnes & Noble I went to said they ”never got them yesterday or today”. When I pressed further, she revealed that N&O just drops it off in front of the business door. People were definitely stealing the paper yesterday and today.

The Eye Store Hours Update

I had made a post asking about store hours earlier today and no one had a confirmed time for each day. Wanted to post their signage here for anyone with further questions! Not a whole lot of SCF merch available yet, but they are pressing patches in store.

Bought a decent looking CECHA online for $225. The description said it had a 500 GB HDD. To my surprise after cracking it open, I found a near new 500 GB Samsung SSD. This puppy was worth the purchase price alone based off of today’s prices!
