Comments on my build?

Finally pulled the trigger -- build code is ALKMA6-- not really looking for advice on the color scheme, I know it's not for everyone, it's what I like. I don't think I'm really missing anything? any "must have" options I didn't tick off? I'm not a fan of carbon as an aesthetic, so didn't go with any of that. Video is something the dealership sent, specific to my build.

officially pulling the trigger on a '26 Revuelto -- some pics on wheels appreciated.

going through final options on a revuelto, the only thing I'm swaying on are the rims. I like the Altaneros, but can't decide between shiny titanium or shiny black (the car color is black -- nero noctis).

I've had a bunch of vettes before this, so I'm really burnt on chrome wheels. It's tough to tell how shiny the titanium shiny wheels are from the generated borchure... The look subdued in the picture, but I'm not sure. Black rims look great imho, but may be too much black given the car color. any user pics of altaneros in shiny titanium and in shiny black would be greatly appreciated !!

update on upgrading various generation Surface Studios to 2+ specs

Been working on various projects to upgrade the first gen and second gen to 2+ standards.

Putting this here for posterity.

Gen 1 -> gen 2+:

  • Jury is out on this one. I've attempted to upgrade a first gen with a Samsung panel (in "advanced monitor" properties, under device IDs, it comes up as "SEC"). Although the physical connectors from the monitor to the mobo are identical, I could NOT get it to work. At all. I'm trying to source a sharp panel/BOE digitizer, but getting that information from someone off ebay is difficult.
  • In any event, if want to try this, you'll have to source a housing from a 2+ as well as the mobo (of course) and the heatsinks. While everything plugs into the gen2 gen2+, physically nothing on the inside of the housing will swap.
  • I'll revert when I source a sharp panel.

Gen 2->2+ :

  • This upgrade works flawlessly, and I've done it several times (Another successful surface studio 2 to 2+ upgrade : r/Surface)
  • Same as the gen 1, you can't just source a mobo and expect to swap it in (it is *slightly* easier to use a gen 2 housing with a gen 2+ mobo, it is essentially the same form factor, and the connectors all line up, but the ports are different. You'll have to cut them out.

Parts that transfer between all gens:

  • MIcrosoft did a decent job of maintaining the same form factor for the mobo, the connectors, and hinges.
  • Hinges and monitor cables from the screen -> mobo are the same across all three gen, as far as I can tell.
  • Power supply is the same across all three gens
  • fans are all the same

Revuelto or Temerario?

zoning in on my next fun/track car. leaning towards a revuelto, but also considering a zr1x or a Temerario.

I drove the revuelto and the Temerario this weekend. The Revuelto is pretty much everything I expected -- loud, quick off the line, horrible rear visibility, but surprisingly comfortable and while the rear visibility was sucky, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

The Temerario, I hate to say, was kind of disappointing. I had it in corsa/performance, but on a hard pull onto the expressway, it was not really in any way exciting. I know this is a car that needs to be in the upper rpms to really shine, but I didn't expect it to be so uninspiring in the low rpms. If I decide not to go into the price point of a Revuelto, I can't imagine going with the Temerario over the zr1x.

Am I missing something here? I wasn't expecting the Temerario to be a low-end rocket ship, but also wasn't expecting it to be so .. meh.. on the lower rpms.

Granted, I only took each for a 15 minute test drive, would love to hear comparisons grom people who have lived with both cars .

flying to japan .. ana "the room" or jal business?

Title says it all, haven't been overseas in a few years. flying from NY. I like JAL just for the American points. They flight I'm on would be an a350-1000 (so, I believe one of their newer layouts).

I've heard a lot about "the room" on ANA, the flight is a little cheaper, but I won't get points on an airline I use a lot.

Recommendations?

resonators for hellcat motor? suggestions?

I installed a gt haus bi-valve titanium exhaust on my trackhawk.. I have headers and their titanium x pipe. The exhaust even with valves closed is on the loud side (I got black flagged at limerock with the closed). GT Haus recently replaced one of the mufflers, and that's helped, but not a ton.

I'm debating adding 7 or 10 inch resonators, likely ticon. I don't have a ton of experience with them (I'm usually looking to go louder, not quieter). The only place I can install is after the headers, before the xpipe. Anyone have any experience? how much do these really reduce volume? I'm really just looking more to decrease the incessant drone at 75-80mph.

rediscovered the f7 super mk II

Love the look of the f7 Mk.I, but the MK.II .. was trying it last night in some of the Gilly missions, 8x s2 missiles, 4x s4 and 2x s3 guns, it really is a very heavily armed ship -- other than the shields, this imo is so much better of a ship than the f8 -- the wep loadout on the f8 is just... seems like a major downgrade unless I'm missing something (4 s2/ 4s3).

my poor idris after gilly missino 8

pretty much ignored the fighters until the end, rammed the polaris once or twice. but, damn, this thing is tough. .. running it solo takes patience.

The Xy'Kara crossbow

I know I'm late to this party, but could be my new favorite primary (well, maybe not more than my pulverizer). Also fits an 8x scope.

question on diving into a new lamborghini

I'm zoning in on my next car purchase, looking at either a 750s, zr1x, or ... a revuelto.

I know the revuelto is in a completely different price tier than either the vette or the mclaren-- I was leaning toward the zr1x, as it makes the most objective sense, but everytime I look at the reveulto .. damn.

I have the funds for it, but tying up that much is.. not appealing. I've heard that Lamborghini does some short term financing, which I'd rather do -- to those that have experience with buying new, is this correct? does Lamborghini offer any kind of financing? is it worth it? or just bite the bullet and write the check?

Another $0 electric bill ... with pool/AC use

I was dubious about solar panels even after I put them on but they are really pulling through. The credit pool is dwindling now that the pool/pool heater and A/C are running, but still better than the $1,200/month I was getting whacked for. Absolutly considering adding batteries to the build

resonators for trackhawk w/ GtHaus exhaust?

I added GT haus bi valve, titanium system to my trackhawk (ti cat back + ti x pipe). the setup is... LOUD. like, zero difference between valves open and valves closed (so be more accurate, the passenger side has a noticeable difference, driver side not so much). To the point that just doing a pull out of the paddok at Monticello, I was black flagged, valves closed. Also, the drone at anything over 60 is just.. unbearable (I've had a LOT of loud cars in my life, including cars with sidepipes, this is just intolerable)

I get that this system is loud, and that even with the valves closed it's going to be loud, but this is just ridiculous.

everything appears to be working -- system takes a vacuum, and no leaks. I've replaced all the vacuum lines just to confirm. I've visually inspected the flaps in the mufflers, both seem to be closing. The vacuum actuators are clear and grime free.

I've brought it to a speed shop that has installed many GT Haus systems before -- they confirmed that there's very little difference with valves open vs. valves closed, and that otherwise the system appears to be working.

Spoke with GThaus today, after a bit of wrangling, they're going to send me a replacement driver side muffler. I'm hoping that works, but if not... anyone have recommendations on small resonators I can put in the exhaust? and where? The shop I work with can weld titanium, so I'm thinking of putting them inline in the xpipe.

anyway, any recommendations on resonators, and tips on where others have installed them appreciated .

Dumbass exploits system; he's banned. Lies about it, and SC backs down.

The post has since been deleted (by the user) But apparently u/pb-207 argued that his "$5k backer's account" was perma-banned for "reporting" an exploit.

Shockingly, he bald-faced lied -- leaving out the fact that he has been using exploits for awhile (without reporting them), including using cheats to turn FPS weapons into ship weapons.

Despite this behavior, CIG ( u/captainzyloh ) relents under pressure from... a liar? and reverses the ban.

We have enough problems dealing with broken game loops, bugs that have been around for years, and the Odin debacle, let's let the liars and cheaters back in.

Way to go CIG!

SC CPU utilization when optimizing shaders is NUTS

Pretty insane -- while optimizing shaders, SC slammed my 9950x3d at 58-65%, and stayed there for several minutes. I never noticed that before
