I live in Berkeley Heights, where the public schools system is considered good, but there is not a high fraction of students going to elite colleges (i.e., the destination schools are Rutgers and Stevens rather than the likes of Princeton or Columbia).

I keep hearing about the amazing school systems in Bergen County (including magnet schools) and Livingston. It is clear that parents migrate to those towns based on academic opportunities for their children.

Assuming that the "goal" is to get into an elite college, is there a huge difference between going through the public school system in a town like Berkeley Heights compared to a town in Bergen County?

Edit: Let's not turn this into a public vs. ivy argument. We all know that whether a person is successful in life is not solely determined by where they went to school. I am just wondering whether there is truly a difference in opportunities based on whether you went to a "good" or "great" NJ high school.

1. Can anyone tell me exactly what kind of chemical to use? There seem to be many options but I'm a beginner and unsure what to go with. My yard in North Jersey has a cluster of "long and skinny" trees of heaven (around 3 inches in diameter).

2. For tiny ones popping up on my lawn, will regular mowing just do the trick or should chemicals also be used there?

I'm late to the party, but can anyone recommend options for the coming weeks?

A bit of a drive is not a problem and we are open to anything. Just really need some help.
