Rare Vintage Full Titanium Casio Protrek [PRT-3000]

Secured this extremely rare vintage JDM casio prt-3000 from the late 1990s. The full titanium cast on this piece is truly something else! The case, case back, and even the H links were all casted and finished extremely well. And with its protrek features and design, the choice to use titanium actually makes a lot of sense. The weight is significantly reduced and that makes this piece extremely wearable.

The fact that this watch has an adjustable contrast in the settings for the LCD, truly makes me appreciate the design features and thought back when Casio was making some pretty epic watches.

Have you guys seen this full titanium pro trek out in the wild? Would love to hear your thoughts!

[Seiko Silverwave 6030-5630] Vintage Tank Style Two Tone Watch

Stumbled across this gem recently, a vintage seiko silverwave tank styled watch with a screw down crown. This is the Seiko 6030-5630, and it’s in pretty mint condition. It has the wave logo on the case back, a nod to seiko’s explorations in dive watches through the silverwave line.

The two tone design gives it a vintage flair, and its compact dimensions makes for a comfortable wearing experience. Would love to hear your thoughts on this piece!

[Seiko LM Special 5216-5000] Emerald Green 1974 Lordmatic

Seiko truly made some iconic and bold design choices between the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. This Lordmatic special was from the year 1974, and its emerald green with silver and gold indices certainly pushed the boundaries with its bold colors and textures. This marked the period before the quartz revolution, and was one of the higher end movements made by the Daini Factory in a transitional period where quartz was already on the rise and about to complete redefine the watch industry.

I personally enjoy the colors used here, a reminder of times when watch making wasn’t always taken too seriously, where exploration and fun were welcomed in the ways that watches were designed. A time where perhaps the world welcomed, needed even, joy and color.

Got this piece as a special momento for an important milestone, celebrating life, even when times are hard.

Let me know your thoughts on this piece! Cheers!

[SBGX005] Vintage Grand Seiko

The SBGX005 is such an underrated and hidden gem. I came across this piece while browsing Japan’s online markets. It came with the box, papers and a well sized bracelet. The 36mm case diameter, along with its elegant champagne dial, makes for a timeless tribute to Grand Seiko’s early beginnings. The fact that it is powered by the 9F62, the quartz movement still used by GS today, is testament to how the 9F62 has stood the test of time, quite literally! Anyone out there has this piece in their collection too? How do you guys find it!

[Seiko 5 Superior] Black Whirlpool Dial

Stumbled upon this watch with an extremely intricate whirlpool dial at a vintage watch shop. I never seen a whirlpool dial on a Seiko except for the modern day Grand Seikos. This piece even has the lion emblem engraved on the case back, yet again, a design now exclusive to Grand Seiko. What a quirky and interesting piece this is! I’ve never seen another like it.
