Hey yall, I run Grand Rapids Coffee Club and this saturday we are participating with the global coffee tasting/live stream called "The Fermentation Project" by James Hoffman. Our normal club meetup will be at 8am where we share beans/hangout and talk coffee with the global tasting after. You can read more about it here.

Hey yall, since diagnoses about 2.5yrs ago ive only tried to exercised hard a few times. The last time I went skateboarding I had to stop skating early because I kept dropping super low. Yesterday I went with an old friend skating for the first time in like 10 years and I didn't want to have to end the session early due to diabetes. I went in with a game plan to drink a protien drink and a protien bar right before the session and also remove my mobi completely. We skated for about 3 hours and this was my graph. How do yall approach a prolonged activity as such? I would love some tips if you have them.
Hey yall! I own a coffee shop/roastery and am on my feet all the time roasting and also working in the cafe. I have 'acute' scoliosis' as well as lots of stress from life/ my job. I saved up some money and finally got a proper massage 3 weeks ago and my back has felt better than it has in the past 15 years. I went to my endo today (A1C was 5.5!) and I talked about how ever since I got that massage I've been much more insulin sensitive. Has anyone on here tried getting their insurance to cover massages for t1d management? My doctor kind of just laughed at me for asking but I figured I'd post on here and see if anyone had any info.
Brew follow ups to the "Orea J1 (z1)" aeropress Frankenstein bullshit I made.
Brewed two coffees side by side and measured extraction.
Coffee brewed: Morningsong Peru Gesha
Grinder: Ek43 SSP LU
Dose: 12g
Water: 200g
Grind setting: 9.4
Refractometer: Difluid R2 Extract
Short J1 TDS: 1.46
Tall J1 TDS: 1.59
Obviously both could be dialed in do reach desired extraction but this is more to prove that the shorter distance does cause less agitation.
Too cheap to buy a Z1 but I finally found a good use for my aeropress thats been in a drawer for 9 years.
