4.6 Edelbrock Victor JR supporting parts list/guide.
So if your like me and aren't too familiar with aftermarket mods on vehicles, sourcing all the extra stuff you need to install this intake seems like a nightmare. It took me countless hours of research and figuring stuff out to get everything I needed but eventually I got it done. Im creating this post because I found very little to no guides explaining everything you need to install this intake, so if i can help even one person in the future who plans to do this install then I call this post worth it. I also used the mmr adapter plate between the stock throttle body and intake, so if your planning to run an aftermarket throttle body you may need the edelbrock elbow and a bigger cowl hood.
Obviously the intake itself and new gaskets. OEM style gaskets will work.
Edelbrock supporting fuel rails.
The stock fuel rails will not work with this intake. I have heard of people modifying the stock ones to work, but im not sure about specifics on that.
- Fuel lines and fuel fittings for the aftermarket rails.
The link I included is for the 99-04 Returnless fuel system style, but they also have a 96-98 Return style on the website if you don't want to modify your non pi GT.
- Aeromotive part no. 15112, fuel pressor sensor adapter. You need this so you can adapt your fuel pressor sensor into the crossover AN line for the fuel rails. There might be another way but thats how i did it.
Extra fuel fittings for the pressor sensor adapter into the crossover line. I unfortunately know f all about fuel fittings, but im sure if you go to your local hose and fitting store or even a parts store they can help you out on the right fittings you need to do this. That's exactly what I did.
Loctite 592 for crossover adapter fitting npt threads. Make sure you give 24 hours to fully cure.
MMR adapter plate. You'll need this to run the stock throttle body to the intake as the flange bolt patterns are different. You also will need I wanna say qty 4 extra 5/16 bolts and washers. If you dont want to make your own gasket between this and the intake I believe theres a gasket kit on modular performance.

1/8 NPT plug for an extra port on the side of upper intake by the throttle body. Make sure to use just teflon tape on this and all the NON fuel fitting plugs.
You will have to modify by cutting a bit and drilling or get a new alternator bracket. Its probably stable enough with the two base bolts to not even run the bracket, but not sure if I'd recommend.
You will need to extend the fuel pressor sensor and iac valve connector wiring because they will no longer reach the sensors.
I wanna say thats all, there was so much stuff to do and figure out I could definitely be missing some stuff. I'm no mechanic but if anyone has questions I can try my best to answer.
What do size plugs to plug these holes? Do i even need to plug them? Edelbrock Victor JR
What do I need to connect to the firewall fuel spout? 99 4.6 2v, edelbrock fuel rails
So I have a 8AN Feed Line with OE style Spring Lock Adapter, according to ai I need a 3/8" Ford Spring-Lock fitting (e.g., Russell 640880). Would anyone with more knowledge than me on these mods and fittings be able to confirm or deny? And if possible a link to the correct part would be much appreciated.
Anyone know how to disconnect the fuel line from fuel rail? Maybe a special tool? 4.6 2v
Buddy lent me his dirtbike for 2 weeks and now is saying its damaged and i might have to pay half the bill.
So as the title suggests I rode my buddies dirt bike for 2 weeks and then when he came to come get it he is trying to tell me it is damaged. According to him the rim is bent, valves are shot and its not running right. It was a 70s enduro 250cc, and already was a bit beat up to begin with from him dropping it off of his truck on the highway.
During the 2 weeks I had it I rode it more or less normal, when i took it on the highway it was pinned at 110km/h but thats because its a 70s 250cc with very little power, and its not like it was revved out at 7k rpm or anything like that. And I didn't put anymore than 500km on the bike. Checked the oil regularly and it was good.
The only things I can think of that I did that mightve hurt it was hitting some 3 foot jumps onto soft ground, which I doubt hurt anything as its designed for it, and when I was putting through a small mud puddle at maybe 2km/h I got sucked in and dragged in. I picked up the bike and started it immediately and as far as i knew the thing was muddy but fine.
Im trying to be accountable here and im probably going to just pay him anyway but what do you guys think? Am I clearly in the wrong here? Is it him? Or is it a bit of both? Its just extra sketchy because the thing was already so beat up to begin with as i said from falling off his truck on the highway.
Edit: As far as im concerned this is a lesson to never take lended stuff from buddies, especially a dirtbike. I had a feeling this would happen and shoulda listened to my gut but i didn't.
A little locksmithing punch (end diameter only .025)
Made this little punch for my buddy that does locksmithing. Ain't the prettiest but it works. Didn't harden it because being that small of a diameter it probably would have just made it too brittle and warped, plus we don't do hardening in my shop anyway so don't really have a way to. Apparently it works good.
Can you guys please reassure me on a minor thing that dosent matter.
So I went to pay my bill which was $28 and some odd change after getting some food and i get the waitress to break $100. I figure like how they normally do they are gonna take what they need for the bill and give you back change, which you can then tip. But to my foolishness she hands me back the full $100 which I didn't even look at so when I gave her just $10 assuming that was the tip she looked at me like i was on another planet, obviously being $18 shy of the bill.
It took me 10 seconds to figure out what was even going on because I had a 12 hour filled day of work, (Im a machinist, so after dealing with numbers all day you can get a bit fatigued from it) and a hard workout which was the nail in the coffin to any ability to think I had left for the day. Now 10 seconds may not sound like a lot, but when you have your buddy mocking you and the waitress looking at you full of disgust because you seemingly don't know simple rudimentary math and north american tipping service (which is bullshit btw) it felt like an eternity of trying to figure out why i am a sub iq Neanderthal.
In the end because I didn't want to be bothered with it anymore and had felt enough humiliation, and because she didnt give me the right denominations of bills to tip $10 anyway, I just gave x2 20s and a 10 for a total of $50, giving her a $20 tip. Oh well.
In the end its not the $10 I lost im worried about. Its the fact that one of my biggest unnecessary fears is feeling stupid, and i felt stupid. Which often times ends up being a self fulfilling prophecy because I get nervous not wanting to look stupid and end up doing stupid things from the nervousness.
Just being a machinist people expect you to be so smart and good with numbers and honestly it breaks my heart whenever i cant live up to that.
Is all this really that deep? No, not even in the slightest. Hell, im sure in this essay i had plenty of grammatical errors which people would judge more harshly for than a bill paying mixup in terms of intelligence but I could never care about that.
But some reassurance that im not a cavemans inbred twin would be nice.
Anyone know details on how to run stock throttle body/intake hose with edelbrock victor jr intake manifold on a 4.6 2v?

Hey, im so desperate i made a reddit account just for this so I hope someone can help me. Just wondering about how to do what I asked in the title. For all I know it could just bolt right up, but the stock flange pattern or whatever might be different, not totally sure and trying to have everything i need before i start pulling the car apart because id like to get everything done at once. I read maybe something about an adapter plate (maybe mmr?) but I couldn't find too many specifics. It seems a lot of people love to gloat online how they built their car with this manifold without actually providing meaningful steps or including parts on how they did it.
Really hoping I dont have to go with the edelbrock intake elbow and throttle body because ive wasted enough money trying to figure out this stupid mod as it is and I heard you may even need to replace the hood to allow that to fit. Screw that. (Stock plastic manifold cracked and didn't want to go with more plastic aftermarket crap)
Anyone with knowledge on this mod or even just 2v stangs in general, the help would be much appreciated.
I already have edelbrock fuel rails, lines and fittings and a fuel pressor sensor adapter but if anyone could also think of other stuff i need feel free to include that also.
