I’ve caught a handful of Pike so far this year on the Chenango River in Upstate NY. Here’s some photos and locations I’ve caught them in while fishing from my kayak.
My goal this year is to try like hell to catch one in the 40” range. So far the biggest has been just under 30. I’ve mainly been trolling jerkbaits and casting large in-line spinners (Mepps Musky Killers) in under 10ft of water since it’s been warming up. Water temp is currently just below 65F
Any advice on where to find/catch a monster Pike?
Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a Musky net that is large, yet still compact enough for a fishing kayak?
For reference I’m using a Perception Outlaw 11.5.
