Hello all, someone offered me all this scrap for free. The issue is I have no idea what any of it is, and I’m too new to ID any of the wood from looking.
I see some construction lumber, probably Doug Fir. I would love to take it all, but I have limited storage.
Can anyone spot any hardwood or anything that I should definitely take?

Wasn’t sure what flare to add. I had a new roof put on my house about 9 months ago. There is an original part of the house (1952) and an addition (sometime in the 70s) the addition has a flat roof which was quite the headache. In the addition there are ceiling tiles and my wife and I noticed some discoloration and something that looks like it’s growing in a spot. We noticed this about a couple days ago and there hasn’t been any rain in the last week.
I have a warranty on the roof, but it looks solid with no leaks and they have someone coming out to do a spray test soon.
If it is not a leak, what could this stuff be and how do I prevent it?

I think we are all aware of the AR formula being “AR= RMMxDR” where “RMM=IRxCR”. But where are these formulas written? Is there a specific SAS that prescribes these formulas? I was looking for SAS No. 107, but can’t seem to find the entire SAS on AICPAs website?
Western U.S. I honestly just need to know how to trim it. My wife likes the flowers but it’s too overgrown for our yard. Any video tutorials would be super helpful.

Hello all, I currently have a #5,#6, and a #7 but I’m looking into getting a scrub plane. I know there are a ton of videos on making one yourself or converting a blade, but I don’t have access to a bench grinder and I don’t want to spend a lot of money. The ECE is honestly not much cheaper than the veritas, but I found one made by Pinie. It’s only about $60, so I assume I would have to flatten the sole a bit, but has anyone ever used one, did it take a lot of work to get it tuned up? Is there another brand or site I should check out? I’m trying to get to a scrub plane as quick as possible.
