Alcohol in brownies?

Alcohol in brownies?

Chronometer thinks there is a small amount of alcohol in brownies, presumably from the added extract of vanilla.

I cry bunk! Cooking the brownies would likely evaporate all the alcohol away!

Not critical, but I’ve prided myself in avoiding alcohol for the last month only to have Chronometer claim it isn’t completely true!

If my body battery maxed out at 5:30AM, should I have gotten up then?

Got home after a long (Sun)day of wholesome fun in the sun. Went to bed at 11.

I arose at 7. My sleep score was 85 (good for me), but my body battery was 100 by 5:30. Does that imply I slept too long? I was rather groggy, but I chalked it up to a long (however fun and relaxing) prior day.

Maybe there should be a feature to wake you up whenever your body battery maxes out?

Small bag for Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 RLE

I really liked using a Topeak removable seat bag on my last bike, but it blocks the radar and tail light. I bought the smallest RockBros screw-on top tube bag and it’s OK, but my legs hit it when riding out of the seat. It’s also barely large enough for my emergency kit and the bolts that come with it can damage your bike by getting stuck in the frame— if you get one, don’t use them!

Soooooooo….

What I really want is a small frame that clamps firmly to the seatpost and holds a small bag below the radar/light unit. If I can’t find something, I’ll be tempted to to design one myself. Anyone else interested?

Still brain-dead auto-categorization

Some genius auto-categorizations:

USPS —> Bars

Market Basket —> Coffee Shops

The Anchor (Restaurant) —> Charity & Donations

Saloniki Greek (Restaurant) —> Personal Care

Ancestry.com —> Shopping

SRS*Slow River Stu(dio) —> Doctor

In this day of Artifical Intellegence this comes off as Intentional Stupidity. The app would be better off not automatically cataloging at all than assigning these ridiculous categories!

Also, can’t the app learn from my recatagorization and automatically apply it to future transactions? Apparently not!

Moved from MyFitnessPal to Chronometer

It has gone very well. Chronometer reminds me of MyFitnessPal from years ago. It’s simple to use, the database is quite complete and accurate, and it plays well with Garmin. Overall, a great transition.

Verizon doesn’t have time to talk to me

If this doesn’t sum up Verizon customer service! I ask for a callback on the app, and get the message:

Schedule a callback
You don't have a slot available for callback now. Please try after sometime.

In other words: Go Away!

Update: after bantering with text help, asking what I had to do to lower my bill, the AI suggested I talk to a person. I got a very nice person who fixed the 5 “errors” that were significantly increasing our bill. It took about an hour, but it has been reduced by about 30%.

Oh no! Fenix 6s starting to fail

It’s now over 4 years old. Symptoms:

- Died outright overnight. I went to bed with about 15%, which used to make it through the night. Even 10% used to work. Those were the days!

- Took more than an hour to charge and then only reached 98%, which is weird.

I sense it’s days are numbered. 😢

Resistance training for hacks

Hiya triathletes!

I’m older (65m) and I aim for (but rarely attain all of):

Monday: 2100m swim (sustained)
Tuesday: Short run (2-3mi) + upper body weights
Wednesday: Ride (~20mi)
Thursday: Short run + legs (squats, calves, extension, curl)
Friday: Swim 2100m (interval)
Saturday/Sunday: ride one day and run one day, weather permitting.

Problem: I almost always miss 1-2 workouts due to scheduling or weather and have to ajdust. What is more important to maintain: swim/ride/run or weights?

Settling in to my Sunapse 2 RLE

Just picked it up used at a good price. I already have a Varia Radar, so I’m pondering whether to remove the included unit or keep it. What bothers me is that I can’t put my fanny pack on the bike (on which I mount my Varia). Looking at how the included radar and light attach, I’m not sure I can put the one I have on, anyway. It attaches to the seat rails, which are blocked by the radar mount, even when the radar is removed.

Anyone else thought deeply about this?
