Massage Culture

My partner and I dream of living in Norway someday but we also wonder if we could continue to do what we do or if we’d need to find another way to make a living. We own our own massage studio that is more therapeutic vs going to a spa. I’m wondering what massage culture is like in Norway. Is it a popular way to take care of yourself? Is it more of a luxury? Are there robust laws governing the practice?

Mid 40s Healer - Ask me anything

Eclectic, philosophical person in their mid 40s looking for kind-hearted people to hangout with. I’m living my dharma as a healer, which means I don’t have many opportunities to make friends due to the power dynamics of client/therapist scenarios.

I like coffee, beer, and whiskey.

I like all the foods.

I most listen to jazz but grew up on grunge. I go to the opera, symphony and music in the park.

I go camping, hiking, and long walks on the beach. No really, I’ll walk on the beach for hours.

I have a large collection of boardgames and used to host regular game nights.

I play video games in the regular. I’m older than the NES and cut my teeth on the Atari 2600. I mostly play PC survival games and love a good co-op.

If gender is important to you, I am male-bodied. It’s just the body I was given in this lifetime and I try to treat it well.

What else do you want to know? DM if it’s more personal of a question, but if the crowd would benefit, please reply 🤔

It’s complicated

I’ve been practicing ENM for something like 15 years, although not always actively in a relationship with more than one person. My history with ENM has been very stressful, resulting in a divorce and me having PTSD. My current, longtime partner of almost 10 years has recently started building a relationship with someone and I’m having a terrible time reconciling my emotions.

My “luck” in the ENM world hasn’t been good. Somehow all previous partners, including my ex-spouse, were emotionally volatile. Not necessarily to a point of being abusive, but I certainly felt manipulated from time to time. When I found my current partner, it was like reuniting with a lover from across various lifetimes. As if each life is spent looking for and loving each other deeply.

But I also met them at a time in this life, when things were on a certain trajectory. Soon my dog would die, my best friend moved away, I got a divorce, and then Covid. In that order. I was wrecked and am not sure I’ve ever really recovered. Admittedly, I relied quite heavily on my partner for tending to my wounds.

Perhaps I became too comfortable with them “taking care of” me, and that has lead to part of my current situation. While they are exploring what this new relationship has in store for them, I find myself wanting to be cared for while they are away, but there is nobody around to do that… maybe I feel abandoned?

I don’t even know what advice I’m looking for, like I said, it’s complicated. Maybe more I’m just wanting to hear your experience? WWJD?

Nude Music

Serenity Mountain (nudist retreat) Music Festival is just around the corner, on the first weekend in August! I’ve been going for a few years now, participating as a vendor but also enjoying the music when I can. It’s always so much fun. See you there?

Note for the mods, please don’t remove this post this year… this is a nude meetup for live music, if this isn’t the right thread, not sure what is.

Is there some sort of tipping scale for when you go from occasionally naked to actual nudist? I feel like I’m not nudist enough for some of the nudists in the Redditverse. My main snag seems to be having kids. I have two teenagers that I prefer to wear clothes around. I’ve raised them in an environment absent of body shaming, so in theory if they wanted to be nudists, they could? However, my long time partner is not their birth mother, so I feel like that adds a level of caution that maybe wouldn’t normally be there… more from the perspective of when an outside person found out that a woman unrelated to teenage boys was naked around them or vice versa. Certainly that would raise eyebrows? My partner and I enjoy being nude, just doesn’t usually happen at home. At least not when the kids are around. Instead we enjoy the local spots that allow nudity - spa, resort, that sort of thing. We don’t take the kids with us. So, tldr my kids don’t get naked and I don’t get naked often enough for some other nudists. What gives?
