Hot take: everyone on this sub is autistic

Not an insult, I’m autistic too. But the talks about different shifts in specific years and how we spend so much time putting years into certain categories and discuss it at length is highly autistic behavior and looks weird to anyone outside of this little bubble

“Get out of Dodge”

This is really random, but I always thought the saying “get out of dodge” was a local saying instead of something all Americans say. I thought it was like saying “get out of Dodge street” to get out of somewhere really busy and chaotic. Did anyone else ever think this?

What if someone from the omegaverse visited our world?

I wish I could read a fic like this. But I was thinking about if an alpha, beta, or omega visited our world without a secondary gender, what would they think? Would they think it’s some utopia, or would they think we’re missing some fundamental aspect of humanity? If they met us, would we not smell like anything to them? Would we smell like betas? Also would we be able to smell their pheromones or not because our sense of smell isn’t as good? I think alphas might feel threatened by us and omegas might think we live in some sort of utopia. What do you guys think?

Do you ever wish there were more Omegaverse original works?

I’m not in many fandoms, and most of the best omegaverse comes from fanfiction. I’ve found a few good omegaverse original works, but I just wish there were more. I don’t wanna have to read Omegaverse in fandoms I don’t know or care about.

What are you reading right now?

I’m reading Underline the Black by not_poignant, an original work on AO3 and it is FANTASTIC. Here is the summary:

Efnisien ap Wledig is an omega born into an all-alpha family. Abandoned by his birth mother and raised by his aunt, he is subjected to a lifetime of medical experimentation and brainwashing and believes himself to be an alpha. But the experiments begin to fail, and he is abandoned yet again to an Omega Rehabilitation Facility, where the family expects he will be retrained into the 'perfect omega' and placed in an arranged marriage, or be eliminated if this is no longer possible.

The Facility don't know about the experiments, and Efnisien doesn't even know why he's there in the first place, since he's an alpha...isn't he? One thing's for certain, he definitely doesn't need an alpha companion, no matter what the staff at the facility seem to think.

Anyways, I was wondering what you guys were reading right now, and if you have any favorite omegaverse fics you wanted to share?

I written over 25,000 words so far!

This is the most words of one continuous story I’ve ever wrote. A month ago all I did was scroll but now I’m doing something fun that’s actually creating something :)

Actually before that my hobby was writing on reddit but this is way healthier and more fulfilling

Do you ever wish you weren’t the one to write your fic?

So you could experience reading the whole thing fresh from start to finish?

Feeling guilty for using AI

I don’t even use it very heavily, but I write on AO3 and on r/AO3 they make it seem like if you use AI for the tiniest thing you are an awful person. They say they’d rather read bad fanfiction than someone use AI at all.

I really don’t use it that heavily at all. The most I’ve copied and pasted from AI is like three consecutive sentences. I mainly use it to stop being repetitive, like asking it for a different way to say “touched his cheek gently.”

I use it to brainstorm ideas and get reassurance that my writing is ok cause I have OCD and I just can’t write unless it tells me that my chapter is ok.

Yet I still feel like I’m cheating, like I don’t deserve to say it’s my work. I feel like I have to write shittily cause I don’t have the right to write well yet, like I haven’t earned it.

How many people on AO3 do you think use AI really lightly like I do and just don’t disclose it?

Is selfcest immoral?

r/stonerthoughts you gotta help me, this is the only place I can ask a cracked out question like this. Is it immoral to fuck a clone of yourself? What if the clone is a younger version of you but still age of consent yknow, like a time travel scenario? And would it technically be masturbation? Would it be too intimate and give you like a type of existential horror? Would it make you gay?

Would you read this fic?

The premise seemed interesting but dark, it has quite a bit of kudos and I was excited to read it. But now I’m turned off a bit from reading it. Would you?

Characters watch a movie together and one is jealous

Ok here’s the scenario.

It’s a time travel fic. Let’s call the characters Bill and Ted, who are in a relationship (not their actual names). Young Bill and Ted time travel and meet Old Bill and Ted. A lot of things happen, but what you only need to know is Young Bill flirts with Old Ted and Young Ted gets jealous, so he flirts with Old Bill. They are watching a movie together. What movie could move the plot along? Like one about jealousy? Or a highly sexual one so they all get even more turned on? A gay romance?

Also idk why I have to tag this as graphic content or else it’s getting removed

To those who hate Reddit but can’t leave..

Ok this is gonna be a longer post so have patience.

Reddit tends to attract a certain type of person. This person is probably introverted, a bit socially awkward, obsessed with information, maybe autistic, and just loves thoughts and writing. I fit right in this category, as I’m sure a lot of people reading this do, and I got sucked down the rabbit hole for years. I didn’t realize how toxic the upvote/downvote system is. I didn’t realize how bitter and miserable it was making me, how quick to judge I became of others. I was filtering my opinions in real time to fit the reddit hive mind without even realizing it.

But I always came back to it, because it had the information I craved. It wasn’t Facebook, or instagram, or Twitter. It had quirky, awkward people like myself who liked to have niche discussions, even though the site was overall a very toxic environment.

I’ve since found a lot more wholesome and kind places on the internet that are more accepting that fit that same niche and I feel a lot happier. Tumblr gets a bad rep sometimes, but it is a much healthier environment with kinder people that has no upvote/downvote system. Getting into certain fandom spaces can be really fun and lets you be creative instead of just consuming negative information all the time. You can post more sincere feelings without the anxiety of getting attacked.

The place I’ve discovered the most recently that has the best community I’ve ever seen on the internet is AO3, or the fanfiction writing community. I’ve have never encountered a more intelligent internet community in my life. AO3 is not a social media, it is an archive and one of the online places that doesn’t have an algorithm. It’s pure, old school, tag and search by filters content. They are people with actual nuanced opinions and kind hearts, and it is so relieving finding a community like that

I am writing this because you don’t have to be on this website. I felt like I did because it had the information and intellectual stimulation I craved, in bite sized enough information to keep me on here even when it was ruining my life.

You don’t realize what you become when you stay here too long. I honestly feel like you can lose a part of yourself. I’m not talking about being an occasional Reddit user. I mean chronically online, hours a day, just consuming Reddit content.

And if you don’t feel this way when on this site, that’s great. I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to the people who fill up with anxiety every time they post something here. Sensitive people who pretend they aren’t hurt by downvotes but they are. People who feel like they have to fit in with the rough and cynical nature of this platform and are afraid to be themselves.

To these people, please, get off Reddit. Find a nicer environment. Life is too short.

Anyone else a one fandom person?

Is it weird to only be a part of one fandom? I’m very active in the fandom and have been a part of it for over a decade. I write fan fiction and read fan fiction, but it’s the only fandom I care about. Is this considered strange?
