Russebusser i august?

You get a car, you get a car and YOU get a car! (Releasemageddon?)

So basically every living release series just popped a new release now:

PAN-OS 10.2.7-h35, 10.2.10-h37, 10.2.13-h22, 10.2.16-h8, 10.2.18-h7, 11.1.4-h34, 11.1.6-h33, 11.1.7-h7, 11.1.10-h27, 11.1.13-h7, 11.2.4-h18, 11.2.7-h16, 11.2.10-h9, & 12.1.4-h7 are now available!

Release notes for all versions seems to be a nondescriptive oneliner along the lines of "here be dragons" or "moon phase is not to your advantage, bad things are bound to happen".

My volvo saved my life... and lead to savage violence

For the tenth time this week my very modern and intelligent XC90 saved me from a handful of wet straws in my driveway. I may need some time to recover for the shock of having the brakes slammed and alarms going off for approaching said straws at a fraction of walking speed. This is a minor cost to pay for coming away from this with my life intact.

I have again cut the straws down and I will be safe from my Volvo for another week or two.

That is all.

Proxmox Backup Server - Rate limiting jobs

I was cleaning up parts of my setup (three locations with PVE, one has a PBS) and noticed something a bit odd.

Has anyone else noticed that if you rate limit a backup job from a remote location the rate limit applies to the *read* speed on the file system and not the transmission of the compressed data back to the PBS server?

Is it only me that finds this weird?

Filters for 34-100E

So, I accidentally bought myself an X2D II and the 35-100E. I've read and seen enough reviews that I knew most things, but one thing stumped me after I got home. Filters.

The 35-100E is 86mm wide, and I have tons of filters for my Nikon collection, but that is all 72/77/82/88mm. From a bit of looking around 86mm is not as easy to find filters for.

Does anyone in here have a pointer to filter sets that is 86mm? I'm mostly looking for CPL and a few grades of ND.

I did find a local shop that had Urth's CPL and ND1000, but the problem is that the filter thread on the outside is so shallow that the standard lens cap does not attach well. So, either filters that have thread depth for the standard cap, or maybe even someone that sells lens caps that don't need as much thread depth?

Thanks for any pointers.

So here is a fun one.

I have an IMAP account and it's been useful to sort the inbound and sent emails by year. So I add a folder under the inbox named 2020, 2021, 2022, etc. Then I do the same under the sent folder.

Then you want to delete expired things, e.g. the 2020 folder from both inbox and sent. That doesn't work. The trash folder can't hold to folders with the same name. You need to first delete the 2020 under inbox, empty the trash, then delete the one under sent.

Nobody probably cares, but now this will come up in Google when I need to remember why on earth this doesn't work next year. :p
