I know it's a controversial take. But if you think realistically Louis was set up for this ending from the first introduction with haru. He said to Haru, "I can't marry you as my marriage was arranged by my dad."

Louis didn't want Juno to end up like Legoshi too. As Legoshi will have to struggle in the society for his interspecies marriage.

Louis was a complicated character plus he also has a little bit of conservative look in society.

I guess another thing to mention, his father died so maybe he wanted to fulfill his father's wish and he can do anything for power as we have seen him in his shishigumi arc.

Though I won't disagree with the ending was rushed. Nowadays whichever manga I finished ending isn't satisfying.

Like especially with Juno and other characters. What happened to them. It's like chainsaw man. What happened to reze, aki, and others.
