notestar NP-743 CMOS battery leaked, but it needs to be there for the laptop to POST, also no working boot drive

I removed the leaking battery and cleaned the leakage a little, but that caused it to not POST (screen off, HDD spinning), it works with AAs connected to it, how do I fix it in a more permanent way? solder the old battery back on? make AA/AAA work?

FDD has torn spindle belt, any way to get one? should I bother? it is around 225mm long

HDD autodetects, but there is “HDD controller failure” on boot when the HDD is configured, regardless of whether it is connected (but not when not configured), HDD does read and work when connected using an IDE to SATA adapater to a modern PC

mova E20 plus vs xiaomi S40

the mova E20 plus is cheaper (~€120) than the xiaomi S40 (~€150)

how much better is the S40's navigation? the bar is low (generic chinese tuya-based OEM gyro, roomba 600 wifi-connected series)

I can't find much info about the mova E20

floor is PVC, carpets are small and low pile, there is a 2cm threshold between the bedroom and the rest of the apartment, but not going there is acceptable (or maybe even prefferable), I might occasionally run it in the shared hallway where my apartment's wifi doesn't reach very well, can rooms on a single level but seprated by thresholds the robot can't climb by itself be saved into a single map?

I currently have a bootleg version of the original roomba, it has a charging dock (unlike the real original roomba) with scheduling, so the bar is quite low, goal is "cheap but not garbage", are there better vacuums than the ones I found?

I might not actually need selfemptying since I'm used to cleaning out my current robot (and my friends' and dad's robots) after every run

can the dock selfempty bags be reused by dumping the dust out of them or vacuuming it out with a canister vacuum? is not replacing brushes and filters until they are genuinely unusable and/or visibly damaged ok? how big of a concern is not being able to get replacements after 5/10/15 years? what about cloud service shutdown resistance/likelyhood?

is the makita DRC200Z good for a sandpaper factory?

my friend has a sandpaper factory and is thinking of getting a robot vacuum for it

I showed him the makita DRC 200Z and he thinks it would be good

would it be good or would it get ruined by the abrasive dust?

is there a better solution?

dirt would be sandpaper abrasive, nylon and textile fibers

is the MOVA E20 plus any good?

it is really cheap (~$/€150), but has lidar and autoemptying

what is the catch? is the navigation bad? does it clean badly? is it badly made?

the mop is gravity-fed, but that doesn't seem like that big of a deal

I can't seem to find many youtube reviews of it, regional availability is limited most likely

where to start?

I have this lumia 610

I managed to get zune on my PC so I can sync images, music and videos

I’m not logged into anything since the servers are dead of course

do I join the telegram group to jailbreak (I already jailbroke my iphone and modded my 3DS)? then what?

how usable can I make it?

where do I get apps?

how well does the 3DS automatic Mii creator thing work?

you still need to manually select gender (2 options), skin color (6 options), eye color (6 options), hair color (8 options) and hairstyle (132 options)

after creation, there are 8 selectable versions, you can manually adjust too

are we allowed to reply to posts with "here's what my 3DS came up with"?

tried to make my own power bank and left it sitting

when I got it, it already failed the squish test, but it wasn’t visibly spicy

where do I post something about this?

they are earplugs

couldn’t they put a space between “water” and “sports”?

it sounds like something out of GTA
