Pokémon Family Ponjan (1998) – A little piece of Japanese mahjong history

Just a fun little Facebook Marketplace score that I couldn't resist!

Picked up this 1998 TOMY Pokémon Family Ponjan game from Japan. It's a simplified, Pokémon-themed take on mahjong, complete with the original Gen 1 characters, a mechanical playing board, tiles, scoring chips and Japanese instructions.

The box artwork alone was enough to sell me on it. It's in lovely condition for its age, and I'm looking forward to actually learning how to play.

Thought the mahjong community might appreciate seeing this little piece of gaming history!

Has anyone here played Ponjan or Donjara before?

Help working out which goes with which?

I have this big collection but not sure which parts go together. Is it a matter of just researching each individually?

Another mystery piece. Any 'Street sleuths help identify where this Ernie is from?

He has hair, and it's greyed from the storage he was in haha. This is the second mystery from a bag of thrift shop toys i picked up.

What toy were these from?

Curious as to what they originally belonged to. From the 80s/90s.

Picked it up from a garage sale, and curious as can't find much about it. Thanks gang :)

Sydney Foodies: Help Us Celebrate Our 20th Wedding Anniversary

My wife and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in July and we're treating ourselves to a few nights at the InterContinental Sydney.

We're both excited foodies, but we're not really looking for ultra-fine dining, or a single meal that blows the entire budget.

Instead, we'd love to spread that across a few great food experiences over several days and try some of the places that other foodies think are genuinely worth experiencing.

We're open to pretty much any cuisine. It could be a restaurant, a hidden gem, a great lunch spot, somewhere with an amazing view, a fantastic bakery, dumplings, pasta, seafood, dessert, whatever. We're more interested in memorable food and atmosphere.

If you had a few days in Sydney and wanted to eat your way around the city, where would you go?

Quik stickers from the 80s. Anyone remember the pitch with them?

No Atari branding or anything on the back.
