SOLIDWORKS
Fusion 360
Rhino + Grasshopper
Blender
KeyShot
Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
仕事は主にプロダクトデザインで、メカ系のモデリング、複雑なサーフェス、たまに大きめのアセンブリを扱います。BlenderとKeyShotでレンダリングもしますけど、最優先はCADの動作性能です。
いまは **Intel Core Ultra 7 か Ultra 9** あたりのCPUを考えてます。それと、**プロ向けGPU**（RTX 2000 Ada / RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell）にするべきか、それとも **GeForce RTX** のほうがいいのかも迷ってます。
**予算：** だいたい **$3,000 USD**（モニターは除く）なんですが、CADの性能面でちゃんと差が出るとか、長期の信頼性が上がるなら、少し多めに出すのも全然アリです。
このワークステーションは **少なくとも5年** は使いたいので、ベンチの数値だけを追いかけるより、安定性・信頼性・拡張性のほうを重視してます。

I’m planning to build a desktop PC mainly for CAD and product design, and I’d like to hear your recommendations.
The software I use includes:
SOLIDWORKS
Creo
Fusion 360
Rhino + Grasshopper
Blender (Cycles)
KeyShot
My main priorities are:
Fast and responsive CAD performance
Good viewport performance
Reasonable rendering performance
Stability and long-term reliability
I don’t have a fixed budget yet, so I’d like to hear about two types of builds:
The best high-end build you would recommend
The best value-for-money build that avoids unnecessary spending
For the value build, I’m especially interested in which parts are worth spending more on and which parts provide little real-world benefit for CAD.
Would you recommend:
Intel or AMD for this workload?
A GeForce RTX GPU or an RTX Pro workstation GPU?
64GB or 128GB of RAM?
A high-end gaming motherboard or a workstation motherboard?

Hi everyone,
I’m a bit confused about NVIDIA’s workstation lineup.
Is the RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell considered the direct successor to the RTX 2000 Ada Generation?
Or is it more of a new product with a different positioning?
I’m mainly interested in professional CAD workloads (Creo, SOLIDWORKS, Rhino, Fusion 360) rather than AI or gaming, so I’d also love to hear from anyone who has used both cards.

I’m a product design student and I’m starting to take product photography more seriously, especially for watches, small objects, and portfolio work.

I recently decided on a Sony A7R III and a Sigma 105mm Macro lens, and now I’m looking for lighting recommendations.

My budget is around $300–500 for lighting, but I can stretch it if it’s really worth it. I’m mainly shooting indoors and want to capture high-quality details, metal surfaces, reflections, and premium-looking product shots.

Would you recommend:

• Continuous LED lights or flashes/strobes?
• Two-light or three-light setups?
• Specific brands or models?
• Any must-have modifiers (softboxes, diffusion panels, reflectors, etc.)?

I’d love to hear what lighting setups you’re using for product photography and watch photography.

I’m currently looking for a camera system mainly for product photography, especially watches, jewelry, metal surfaces, and transparent materials.
Right now I’m considering:
Nikon Z7 + NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S
Sony α7R III + macro lens
Sony α7R IV + macro lens
I recently visited a camera specialty store, and the staff recommended Sony over Nikon.
Their reasons were:
Larger lens ecosystem
More third-party lens options (Sigma, Tamron, etc.)
Better used market availability
Easier and more affordable system expansion in the future
On the other hand, I’ve heard many photographers say that the NIKKOR Z MC 105mm is one of the best macro lenses available, and that Nikon’s image quality for product photography is exceptional.
My main use cases would be:
Watches and jewelry
Product design portfolio work
Studio product photography with controlled lighting
Metal finishing and transparent materials
High-detail macro photography of watch movements and small mechanical parts
For those who have experience with these systems, which would you choose and why?

Hi everyone. I’m looking for some advice on choosing a camera and a macro lens for watch and small product photography.
My current options are:
Nikon Z7 + NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S
Sony α7R III + Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro Art
Sony α7R III + Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS
My main use will be photographing wristwatches and small objects. I want to capture metal textures, sharp edges, dial details, transparent parts, reflections, and fine finishing as cleanly as possible. I will mostly be shooting indoors on a tripod, so video performance and autofocus for moving subjects are not very important to me.
The Sony α7R III seems attractive because of the dual card slots, wider E-mount lens selection, and the strong value of the Sigma 105mm Macro. On the other hand, I’ve heard great things about the Nikon Z MC 105mm, and I’m wondering if the Z7 + 105mm S lens might give better overall satisfaction for detailed product photography.
The points I’m wondering about are:
For watch/product photography, which setup would you choose: Z7 + Z MC 105mm or α7R III + Sigma 105mm?
How important is tethering/PC connectivity for this type of work, and which system is better for it?
Which setup is better value when buying used?
Is the Z7’s single card slot and CFexpress/XQD card requirement a real issue in practice?
Are the Sony third-generation body menus, responsiveness, or smartphone connectivity frustrating enough to matter?
I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who has used these cameras or lenses for watches, jewelry, small products, or studio still-life photography.

こんにちは。時計や小物の物撮りを本格的に始めたいと思っていて、カメラと100mm前後のマクロレンズ選びで迷っています。

今の候補は、

・Nikon Z7 ＋ NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S
・SONY α7R III ＋ SIGMA 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art

です。

主な用途は腕時計の撮影で、金属の質感、文字盤の細かいディテール、エッジのシャープさ、透明パーツや反射の表現を綺麗に撮りたいです。基本的には三脚を使って、室内でじっくり撮影する予定です。動画性能はあまり重視していません。

α7R IIIはダブルスロット、Eマウントのレンズ選択肢の多さ、SIGMA 105mmとのコスパの良さが魅力に感じています。一方で、Z7はZ MC 105mmの描写がとても良いと聞いていて、時計のような精密な物撮りにはかなり合いそうで気になっています。

気になっている点は、

・時計の物撮りでは、Z7＋Z MC 105mmとα7R III＋SIGMA 105mmのどちらが満足度が高いか
・テザー撮影やPC連携の使いやすさ
・中古で買う場合のコスパ
・Nikon Z7のシングルスロットやCFexpress/XQDカードは実際どれくらい気になるか
・SONY第3世代の操作感やスマホ連携のストレスはどの程度か
