I’m working on my first colorwork socks (no real pattern, just vertical stripes for practice). I did extra stitches and a larger needle. When I do the heels and toes (which are plain), do I keep the larger needle size? Thank you!
Any advice for someone new to color work?
I'm trying to not yank my float yarn, space out my stitches on the right hand needle, and am using a size 2 (usually knit on 1). I knit Continental and am trying to do one yarn in each hand (I couldn't get the right tension with 2 yarns in the same hand), if that matters.

The best thing I could find in their limited selection of sock appropriate yarn was this hot pink, so hot pink it was.

Neon green or gray?
The neon green is a bit neonier in person and it doesn’t match the green in the sock but it’s probably different enough to not look like a mistake.
Main color is Must Stash Martian Rainbow and the pattern is Surf Wax by Summer Lee.
I have a Stanwood swift and it's always been a bit hard to pop up and it seems to take a bit of effort to get it spinning. Once it's going, it seems fine. The instructions said I could use beeswax to help it glide but that doesn't really help the up and down and if course, I can't get wax inside the part that houses the spinning part. Any suggestions on how to make it slide up and down and/or spin easier?
I'm not one of those people who washes their socks by hand (that's what superwash wool is for) but I do use cold water and line dry. I made a pair of socks with this wool which was described as easy care and machine washable but they felted and shrank. Just just a word of warning.

This is the only pair of socks I've ever felted. If I continue to machine wash them will they felt further or have they gotten to the point where they're at their smallest/feltiest? Just curious, although I plan to hand wash these now.
ETA: Looking at the label it doesn't say superwash, just wool/nylon, but it also says machine washable. So lesson learned, I guess.

This is the desert spring scarf https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/desert-springtime. There’s a “note” that says the first stitch is slipped. If I slip it, my count for each row is off by 1. Unless I’m supposed to count each first slipped stitch as a k1?
