will there be high tariffs on ordering things from China?

I want to order an item from China that costs $2-3k. The seller said they could lower the declared value.

If i get them to post it for under $800 would there still be high tariffs? I don't watch the news and i stopped ordering things from Asia when all this started.

Thanks for any and all help.

can you get a job doing menial work like cleaning on a work visa?

I want to give the whole JP thing a shot, go there and start looking for a job. But i don't want to work at an English school. I don't like people and i have no interest in studying the Japanese language intently other than to get by in daily life.

I'm from the usa and have a b.a. I have no desire to work in an office. My job experience is random low level jobs like security, usher, cashier, and bartender.

Can't i just work as a janitor or in a factory or food delivery on a bike? Would these jobs show up on indeed jp? Or is there a craigslist jp version?

Surely there must be plenty of undocumented folks doing this?

P.s. No i don't like anime or Japanese things other than sushi. I just want to live in a more peaceful quiet setting (where i don't understand people), as opposed to living in a chaotic usa city where you walk by human feces on the sidewalk everyday.

happy non-magic medieval shows like pursuit of jade?

Romance is okay.

Pursuit of Jade actually had a lot of violent scenes and gore. But there were moments of happiness and good will. And neighborly or community love. I liked that. I liked how the couple was committed to each other though sometimes stuff like that is cringe. Romance is okay. I'm realizing most of the shows i watch have magic in it whereas Jade didn't. The medieval atmosphere is nice.

I've watch so far: Whispers of Fate, Mysterious Lotus casebook, a moment but forever, back from the brink, moonlight mystique, pursuit of Jade.

On my radar are: kunning palace, love like the galaxy, starry love, legend of magnate, prisoner of beauty

I really like the warmth setting and feeling like we're a part of something. And comedy scenes interspersed are also nice.

Thanks for all recs.

constant download errors and unable to create a simple "New Folder" ? hard drive or windows issue?

Hello,

For a few weeks now I've had an insufferable issue and originally I thought it was a website throttling me but now it's become more abundantly clear it might be a hard drive issue?

My ability to download images from Pinterest on desktop PC has been hampered. I get an error "something went wrong" and filename too long. I originally thought it was the website throttling me but then I realized I can't even create a "New Folder" in my files explorer. It says "File Destination Path Too Long". I have plently of space on my harddrive: used 359gb free 105gb.

I built the PC myself around 8+ years ago. For a while now I have been getting a message that windows support is ending so maybe that's the issue. Here are the device specs from the About:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz

Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable)

Storage 466 GB SSD Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB

Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (2 GB), Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 (128 MB)

System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I'm curious what the issue is and if any PC detectives can figure out the issue. I haven't reformatted or cleaned the harddrive. I've used Glary Utilities in the past.

I would just like to download images in full resolution again from Pinterest as a find it a very soothing hobby at the moment. Thanks for your time and thanks in advance for any assistance.
